Volvo Construction Equipment India made a strong statement at EXCON 2025 by unveiling its new Made-in-Bharat EC215 excavator, along with a wide range of India-focused machines and solutions. The company also shared fresh updates on its upcoming Bengaluru Technology Centre, highlighting its long-term commitment to the Indian market.
The star of the showcase was the Volvo EC215 excavator, fully manufactured in India. It is designed specifically for the country's fast-growing infrastructure sector and caters to the popular 20–22 tonne category.
The new model builds on the success of last year’s EC210 and offers improved performance, fuel efficiency, and productivity, addressing the key needs of Indian contractors.
Volvo CE India highlighted a mix of new and upcoming products catering to different construction segments:
1. SD110 Compactor: Developed for road construction, offering reliable compaction performance for highways and infrastructure works.
2. L120 Electric Wheel Loader: The company’s first zero-emission commercial machine in India, marking Volvo CE’s entry into electric construction equipment in the country.
3. EC650 Excavator (Previewed): Designed for large infrastructure and mining projects, the EC650 was showcased ahead of its official launch.
Apart from new machines, Volvo CE also showcased its growing service ecosystem, which includes:
Equipment-as-a-Service offerings
Digital monitoring and fleet management tools
Operator training support
Systems aimed at reducing downtime and improving machine utilization
These solutions underline Volvo CE’s goal of supporting customers beyond equipment sales.
The company shared updates on the development of its Bengaluru Technology Centre, which will focus on:

He emphasized that customer feedback played a major role in designing the EC215 and that the product lineup showcases the industry’s shift towards low-emission and high-efficiency technologies.
