India’s first ARAI-certified electric tractor.
Up to 70% lower operating cost.
Savings of nearly ₹10 lakh in 5 years.
27 HP power, 22.37 kWh battery, 4.5-hour runtime.
Available in 17 dealerships across 10 states.
Montra Electric, the clean mobility brand of the Murugappa Group, has entered the northern markets with its breakthrough Montra Electric E-27 tractor. The launch took place at the 9th edition of EIMA Agrimach India 2025 in New Delhi, one of the country’s most important global exhibitions dedicated to farm mechanization.
The Montra Electric E-27 is India’s first ARAI-certified electric tractor, marking a major step forward in sustainable and technology-driven farming. Built for modern agriculture, the tractor delivers 27 HP equivalent power and 90 Nm torque using a high-efficiency PMSM motor. It supports a wide range of farm tasks, including ploughing, tilling, spraying, and haulage.
Farmers can choose between 2WD and 4WD versions depending on their soil and terrain. The tractor is equipped with a 22.37 kWh LFP prismatic-cell battery pack, offering 4.5 hours of runtime and a fast 2.15-hour charging time. The battery also ensures high safety and reliability for day-long farm operations.
The E-27 comes with advanced features such as:
8F+2R side-shift transmission
Dual-speed PTO (540 and 1000 rpm)
720 kg hydraulic lifting capacity
Quiet and low-vibration operation for better health and reduced operator fatigue
With these capabilities, the tractor delivers diesel-like performance without emissions.

Montra Electric has focused heavily on economic benefits. With no diesel usage and reduced maintenance, the E-27 can cut operating costs by up to 70%, saving farmers nearly ₹10 lakh over five years. This makes the e-tractor a strong alternative to traditional diesel models.
Harish Prasad, CEO of Montra Electric Tractors, said: “Entering the northern markets with the Montra Electric E-27 is a major milestone in India’s clean mobility and agricultural transformation. Agriculture is the largest consumer of tractors, making electrification essential for meaningful sustainability. The E-27 brings zero-emission, future-ready technology to India’s farmlands while reducing the total cost of ownership for farmers.”
The Montra Electric E-27 is now available across 17 dealerships in 10 states. The price of the e-tractor starts at ₹10.75 lakh (ex-showroom).
With the launch of the E-27, Montra Electric strengthens its commitment to sustainable mobility, expanding from electric commercial vehicles to electric tractors. The company aims to support a new era of clean, efficient, and future-ready farming in India.
