The Madhya Pradesh government’s Ladli Behna Yojana has become a lifeline for millions of women by offering monthly financial assistance. While the scheme continues to bring happiness to many homes, reports indicate that several women may not receive the 29th installment this time. Let’s understand who these women are, why their payments have been stopped, and what steps they can take to fix the issue.

The Ladli Behna Yojana, launched by the Madhya Pradesh government, aims to empower women financially. Inspired by its success, other states like Maharashtra (Majhi Ladki Behna Yojana) and Haryana (Lado Laxmi Yojana) have also introduced similar welfare programs.
Under this scheme, eligible women in Madhya Pradesh receive monthly financial assistance directly into their bank accounts. However, a new update about the 29th installment has brought both good and bad news for beneficiaries.
The government, under Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, is preparing to release the 29th installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana in October 2025. This installment was expected to be special since the amount was announced to increase from ₹1,250 to ₹1,500 as a festive gift for Diwali and Bhai Dooj.
However, not all women will benefit this time. Reports suggest that several beneficiaries will not receive this installment due to verification and eligibility issues.
Usually, the Ladli Behna Yojana funds are transferred by the 15th of every month. The September 2025 installment was released on 12th September.
This time, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that the new ₹1,500 payment will begin after Diwali, on Bhai Dooj. Therefore, the October installment may still be ₹1,250, while the increased ₹1,500 installment will likely start from November 2025.
According to reports, many women across Madhya Pradesh may not get the 29th installment because:
Samagra ID deletion: During the e-KYC verification, several women’s Samagra IDs were deleted or failed to verify. This issue has been particularly noted in Satna and Singrauli districts.
Age eligibility issue: Women who have crossed 60 years of age as per their Aadhaar card or the Samagra portal are now ineligible under the scheme. Many such women were declared ineligible earlier in January 2025, and they will not receive the October payment.
In September 2025, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav transferred over ₹1,541 crore as the 28th installment to the bank accounts of 1.26 crore Ladli sisters across the state.
Additionally, the government transferred:
₹320.89 crore to 53.48 lakh social security pension beneficiaries
₹48 crore to 31 lakh women for LPG cylinder refilling
As per Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the monthly amount under the Ladli Behna Yojana will gradually rise to ₹3,000 per month by 2028.
He assured that there is no shortage of funds for this initiative and emphasized that the scheme has improved women’s financial independence and household prosperity across Madhya Pradesh.

To get the benefits of the scheme, women must meet these eligibility conditions:
Must be a resident of Madhya Pradesh.
Age should be between 21 and 60 years as of January 1.
Married, widowed, divorced, or abandoned women can apply.
Must have a personal bank account (joint accounts are not valid).
Aadhaar-linked bank account with DBT activation is mandatory.
Aadhaar verification on the Samagra portal through OTP or biometric is required.
For women whose names have been removed from the Ladli Behna Yojana list due to e-KYC or Samagra ID issues, the government has given a clear message:
You can update your Samagra ID or complete e-KYC at your nearest service center. Once verified, you will be eligible again and can receive the benefits from the next installment onward.
The government has also assured that it is working to ensure every eligible woman continues to receive her monthly benefit without delay.
The 29th installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana brings both celebration and concern for the women of Madhya Pradesh. While the government plans to increase the amount to ₹1,500 per month from November, some women may temporarily lose benefits due to e-KYC errors or age restrictions. However, by updating their details, these women can easily resume receiving assistance. The scheme continues to symbolize financial empowerment and security for millions of women in the state.
