A loan to support small businesses like dairy or farming.
The Maharashtra government has announced a big update under the Ladli Behna Yojana 2025. Now, along with the monthly financial help of ₹1500, eligible women will also get a loan of up to ₹40,000 without any guarantee. This new facility is aimed at helping women who want to start their own small businesses and become financially independent. The scheme is inspired by Madhya Pradesh's successful Ladli Behna Yojana and is being called Ladki Bahin Yojana in Marathi.

Under this new initiative, women associated with the Ladli Behna Yojana in Maharashtra can now apply for an unsecured loan up to ₹40,000. The announcement was made by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar during a government event in the Nanded district.
The main purpose of this scheme is to support women interested in starting small-scale businesses or self-employment ventures. It is part of the larger effort under Maharashtra’s Women Entrepreneurship Scheme to empower women across the state.
To avail the benefits of this scheme, women must fulfill the following eligibility conditions:
The applicant must be a resident of Maharashtra.
The age of the applicant should be between 21 to 65 years.
The family’s annual income should not exceed ₹2.5 lakh.
Women whose family owns a car or has a government job holder are not eligible.
Women already receiving benefits from any other government scheme cannot apply.
All required documents and conditions must be verified during the application process.
Women interested in taking the loan need to follow these steps:
Visit a government bank or a cooperative bank.
Share your business plan at the time of application.
Loan installments will be deducted from the monthly ₹1500 assistance, so women don’t feel extra financial pressure.
Complete application details will soon be available on the official website: https://cmladlibahna.mp.gov.in/. Women will be able to check eligibility and apply online through this portal.
The loan of ₹40,000 can be used to start various small-scale businesses, especially those related to rural and agricultural areas. Some examples include:
Vegetable plantation
Dairy farming
Mushroom production
Poultry farming
Food or crop processing units
This scheme is ideal for women who want to turn their skills into a source of income and become self-reliant.
The Ladki Behan Yojana 2025 is more than just financial aid. With the addition of the ₹40,000 loan facility, the scheme now focuses on economic development and self-reliance of women. It is designed to help women support their families and become strong contributors to the economy.
Women are encouraged to gather all necessary documents and apply on time to make full use of this golden opportunity.
The scheme, which started in July 2024, has already delivered 10 monthly installments of ₹1500 to eligible women. The 11th installment, for May 2025, will soon be credited via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into the bank accounts of beneficiaries.
This was confirmed by Deputy CM Ajit Pawar in his recent address. The government is committed to continuing this support and improving the lives of women across Maharashtra.
