John Deere India develops products and provides engineering and IT support to global operations.
John Deere India has sold completely assembled tractors from its India manufacturing to the United States, Japan, Germany, and other European countries. The company also exports components and electronic systems from India.
During the Covid-19 epidemic, the business transferred a line to manufacture the 5M family of its high-end higher horsepower tractors in India to exploit the country's production and supply base.
According to Shailendra Jagtap, managing director and country manager, India, John Deere, the business shipped tractors produced in India to 110 nations, with the 5M being the most recent series to leave the country.
These exported tractors have a power range of 75-130 HP and are designed solely for export markets. Currently, the company exports approximately 35% of its overall output. The domestic overall tractor sales in FY23 are predicted to be 900,000 units, and FY24 is expected to be similar, although this will rely on the monsoon.
Aside from tractors, John Deere currently has a road construction company in India as part of the Wirtgen Group's global acquisition, which has a factory in Pune.
The senior officials claimed that 80 John Deere India vendors have now become global suppliers and are contributing to the innovative goods created by Deere internationally.
In addition, with a 4,400-strong workforce in Pune and Bangalore, John Deere India develops products and provides engineering and IT support to global operations.
Mukul Varshney, John Deere's Region 1 director (corporate affairs), stated that the business will continue to invest in and use manufacturing, talent, and India's supply chain to serve farmers in India and throughout the world, with growth predicted in both domestic and export markets.
John Deere India, a subsidiary of John Deere Singapore (a division of Deere & Company), recently celebrated its 25th anniversary in India. The company is based in Pune, with plants at Sanaswadi, near Pune, capable of producing 72,000 tractors, and Dewas, Madhya Pradesh, capable of producing 60,000 units of the 5000 Series of tractors in India.
The company had 700,000 customers, a 10% share of the Indian tractor market, and a leading position in the 45 HP and greater category.
