The state government is offering up to Rs 12 lakh in subsidy on dryer machines, which typically cost Rs 15 lakh. As a result, farmers can acquire these machines for just Rs 3 lakh.

Benefits of the Crop Dryer Machine

During harvesting, crops often contain high moisture levels, ranging from 17% to 40%. However, crops for sale must have moisture levels between 13% and 14%, as higher moisture content can lead to fungal growth. Dryer machines effectively reduce moisture in harvested crops, ensuring safe storage and market readiness. The UP government, particularly encouraging maize cultivation, is offering subsidies on dryer machines to help maintain ideal moisture levels.

Subsidy on Popcorn Machines for Farmers

To further support farmers, the state government is also providing a Rs 10,000 subsidy on popcorn machines, enabling them to diversify their income streams. Farmers interested in corn sowing and processing can also avail subsidies on other corn-related machinery. In addition, the government facilitates training programs for progressive farmers at the Indian Research Institute to enhance their production techniques.

To be eligible for the subsidy scheme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
• Should belong to the backward class.
• The applicant must be at least 18 years old.

Farmers from other states are not eligible for this scheme.
