India’s tractor market continued its positive trend in July 2025 with total domestic sales of 64,322 units, registering an 8.05% year-on-year (YoY) growth compared to 59,530 units sold in July 2024. This growth has been driven by timely monsoon rains and increased kharif sowing activity, reflecting improved rural demand and farm-related activities.

Mahindra retained its top position by selling 26,990 tractors, up from 25,587 units in July 2024. This marks a 5.48% increase in sales. However, its market share fell from 42.98% to 41.96%, a 1.02% decline.

TAFE, including brands like Massey Ferguson and Eicher, sold 11,671 units, achieving a 13.49% growth over last year’s 10,284 units. Its market share rose from 17.28% to 18.14%, a 0.87% gain.
Sonalika’s sales increased slightly by 2.96% to 7,715 units, compared to 7,493 units last year. However, its market share dropped from 12.59% to 11.99%, a 0.59% fall.
John Deere had a strong growth of 20.36%, selling 6,757 units, up from 5,614 units. Its market share also improved from 9.43% to 10.50%, showing a 1.07% increase.
Escorts Kubota sold 6,624 tractors, just slightly more than 6,540 units last year, showing 1.28% growth. However, its market share dropped from 10.99% to 10.30%, a 0.69% decline.

New Holland posted the highest growth among major players, selling 2,814 units, up from 2,201 units in July 2024. This marks a 27.85% increase, and its market share grew from 3.70% to 4.37%, a 0.68% rise.
Captain Tractors had a modest increase of 0.41%, selling 484 units, slightly higher than 482 units last year. Its market share fell from 0.81% to 0.75%.
Indo Farm sold 358 tractors, a 1.70% increase over last year’s 352 units. However, its market share dipped from 0.59% to 0.56%.
Preet saw a significant decline, with 345 units sold, down 13.53% from 399 units last year. Its market share dropped from 0.67% to 0.54%.
VST sold 345 units, up 1.47% from 340 units last year. Despite the growth, its market share reduced from 0.57% to 0.54%.

ACE experienced the largest fall, with 157 units sold, down 16.49% from 188 units last year. Its market share also fell from 0.32% to 0.24%.
SDF posted a 24.00% growth, selling 62 units compared to 50 units last year. Its market share improved from 0.08% to 0.10%.

India’s tractor industry performed well in July 2025, supported by favorable monsoon conditions and healthy farm activity. Leading brands like New Holland, John Deere, and TAFE showed strong growth and gained market share. On the other hand, Preet, ACE, and Sonalika witnessed a fall in sales or market share.
As rural demand continues to improve and agricultural activity remains steady, the tractor market is expected to maintain this positive momentum in the upcoming months.
