India’s domestic tractor market witnessed steady growth in April 2025. A total of 83,131 tractors were sold, showing an 8.05% increase compared to 76,939 units sold in April 2024. While leading brands like John Deere, TAFE, and New Holland posted strong numbers, others like Escorts Kubota, and Sonalika saw slight declines in market share.

Brand-Wise Sales Highlights

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M)

Mahindra continued its lead as India’s top tractor manufacturer with 38,516 units sold in April 2025. This is a 7.57% rise over April 2024. However, its market share dipped slightly from 46.54% to 46.33%, a drop of 0.21%.

TAFE Group

TAFE recorded strong sales growth of 11.23%, selling 14,462 units in April 2025. Its market share improved from 16.90% to 17.40%, gaining 0.50%.

Sonalika Tractors

Sonalika sold 9,955 tractors, showing a modest 3.17% growth over April 2024. However, its market share declined from 12.54% to 11.98%, down by 0.57%.

Escorts Kubota

Escorts Kubota saw a 4.05% decline in sales with 8,148 units, compared to 8,492 units last year. Its market share also fell from 11.04% to 9.80%, a drop of 1.24%.

John Deere

John Deere reported strong performance with 6,856 tractors sold, up 18.72% from last year. Its market share increased from 7.51% to 8.25%, a gain of 0.74%.

New Holland

New Holland grew significantly by 21.52%, selling 3,484 units in April 2025. The company’s market share also rose from 3.73% to 4.19%, an increase of 0.46%.

Preet Tractors

Preet faced a decline in both sales and share, selling 372 units compared to 405 in April 2024, down by 8.15%. Its market share dropped by 0.08%, from 0.53% to 0.45%.

Indo Farm

Indo Farm saw a small increase in sales, selling 366 units compared to 352 last year. Despite the 3.98% growth, its market share decreased slightly by 0.02%.

SDF Tractors

SDF recorded an impressive 554.90% jump in sales, with 334 tractors sold in April 2025 against just 51 last year. Market share rose from 0.07% to 0.40%, up by 0.34%.

VST Tillers & Tractors

VST posted sales of 250 units, up 20.19% from April 2024. It slightly increased its market share from 0.27% to 0.30%.

Captain Tractors

Captain sold 209 units, a 4.50% growth from 200 units last year. Market share stayed nearly flat, moving from 0.26% to 0.25%.

ACE Tractors

ACE reported 179 tractors sold in April 2025, a 34.59% increase from 133 units. Its market share grew from 0.17% to 0.22%.

April 2025 continued the positive trend in India’s tractor market, driven by strong rural activity and farming demand. While Mahindra, TAFE, and John Deere led the way, brands like SDF and New Holland also showed impressive growth. However, a few companies like Escorts Kubota, and Sonalika saw slight setbacks in market share.
