Affordable Modern Equipment for Farmers

The main goal of this scheme is to make farming easier and more productive for farmers by offering modern machinery at subsidized rates. The subsidy will help reduce the cost burden on farmers and improve their farming efficiency.

Under the scheme, general category farmers will receive 40% to 50% subsidy, while SC/ST farmers will get 60% to 80% subsidy. This ensures that even small and marginal farmers can benefit from the program.

Direct Transfer of Subsidy to Farmers’ Accounts

A major benefit of this scheme is the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The subsidy amount will be transferred directly to farmers’ bank accounts after they purchase the agricultural equipment.

Farmers will first pay the full amount of the machinery to the dealer and later receive the subsidy directly into their bank account. This process ensures transparency and eliminates the involvement of middlemen. The scheme’s total budget is ₹4.3 crore, providing significant financial relief to farmers, especially in the Nalanda district.

How to Apply Online for the Scheme

Farmers who wish to apply can do so online through the official Agriculture Department portal:www.farmech.bihar.gov.in.

The application process started on October 6, 2025, and will continue until October 31, 2025. Applicants need to upload their documents, such as identity proof and bank account details.

Steps to apply online:

  • Visitwww.farmech.bihar.gov.in

  • Click on the “Agricultural Equipment Subsidy Application” option

  • Upload the required documents (identity card, bank account details, etc.)

  • Submit the application and note down the application number

  • Selected farmers will receive an acceptance letter valid for 21 days, which they can use to purchase the equipment

The selection of beneficiaries will be done through a lottery system, ensuring transparency and fairness in the process.

Equipment Covered Under the Scheme

The Bihar government will provide subsidies on a total of 91 agricultural tools and machines. Some of the major equipment include:

  • Rotary Mulcher – for preparing soil efficiently

  • Super Seeder – for faster and easier sowing

  • Paddy Transplanter – for quick and uniform rice planting

  • Mini Rice Mill – for small-scale rice processing

These machines will help farmers increase production, save time, and reduce manual labor.

Scheme Objectives and Expected Benefits

The Agricultural Mechanization Scheme aims to:

  • Promote the use of modern equipment among farmers

  • Reduce manual labor and time in farming activities

  • Increase overall productivity and crop yield

  • Provide financial relief through subsidies

  • Ensure transparent and fair implementation through online and DBT systems

Experts believe that the scheme will play a crucial role in modernizing agriculture in Bihar and enhancing the economic conditions of farmers, particularly those in rural and semi-rural areas.

A New Ray of Hope for Nalanda’s Farmers

This scheme has become a new source of hope and relief for the farmers of Nalanda district. With affordable modern equipment, farming will become more convenient and productive. The scheme especially benefits small and marginal farmers who often face challenges in purchasing costly machinery.

Farmers are advised to apply before the deadline and take full advantage of the subsidies offered under this scheme to modernize their farming practices and increase their productivity.
