Let’s understand what a Family ID is, why it is needed, and how you can get it.
A Family ID is a digital identification system that contains all the social and economic details of a family in one place. This system is already active in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Karnataka, and is now being adopted in other states as well.
In the Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh, the administration has made it mandatory for all families without ration cards to get a Family ID. In the future, this ID will become the main base for availing of any government schemes.
According to the latest instructions from the District Magistrate, people may not be able to receive ration without a Family ID.
To stop fake beneficiaries from misusing ration and other schemes.
To make sure only the truly needy people get government benefits.
To improve transparency and speed in delivering schemes and ration.
All Gram Panchayats, Municipal Bodies, and Common Service Centers (CSCs) have been asked to speed up the process and spread awareness among the public.
The Family ID card will offer several important benefits:
Benefit | Details |
Accurate Identification | It will help clearly identify who should receive government benefits. |
Fraud Prevention | Fake ration cards and multiple benefits by one family will be stopped. |
Transparency | Digital records will help in tracking schemes easily and quickly. |
Fast Delivery of Schemes | Helps departments operate more efficiently and with better control. |
In Etawah district, the administration has started special camps in villages to help people apply for Family ID cards. All Public Service Centers (CSCs) have been asked to provide this service without delay.
Even ration dealers have been instructed to spread the word and help people in making their Family IDs.
To apply for a Family ID, you will need the following documents:
Aadhar Card (for all family members)
Mobile Number
Address Proof
Ration Card (if already available)
Bank Account Statement
