Lohia Auto has been operating in India's EV industry for over 16 years, with the capacity to manufacture more than 100,000 vehicles annually.

Key Highlights:

  • ZAPL launched Youdha as part of a strategy to target the mass-market electric vehicle segment.
  • The rebranding signifies a shift from "legacy to leadership" in India’s electric mobility sector.
  • Lohia Auto will continue as a premium brand, while Youdha aims to reach a wider audience.
  • The name "Youdha" comes from the Sanskrit word for warrior.
  • ZAPL plans to create an emotional connection with consumers, positioning Youdha as a symbol of empowerment.

ZAPL, the parent company of Lohia Auto, has launched Youdha as part of its strategy to enter the mass-market electric vehicle segment while keeping Lohia Auto as its premium brand. The rebranding was revealed in New Delhi. The name "Youdha" comes from the Sanskrit word for warrior. It represents strength and determination. The logo is inspired by a warrior's shield, with a bold "Y" at its center. It also incorporates elements of an electric charging socket and a three-wheeler structure.

It signifies a move from "legacy to leadership" in India's electric mobility sector. Lohia Auto has been operating in India's EV industry for over 16 years, with the capacity to manufacture more than 100,000 vehicles annually and a network of over 120 dealerships.

Leadership Insight:

Ayush Lohia, Director of Zuperia Auto Pvt. Ltd. (ZAPL), shared the vision for the new brand. He said, "Lohia Auto has always been about innovation and empowerment. With Youdha, we aim to extend this mission to a much larger audience. Our goal is not just to sell EVs, but to create a brand that symbolizes ambition, dignity, and success."

ZAPL's dual-brand strategy is designed to cater to different market segments within the electric vehicle space. Youdha will focus on broadening mass-market adoption, while Lohia Auto will continue to serve premium customers. The company plans to build an emotional connection with consumers through its branding strategy, positioning Youdha as a symbol of empowerment, rather than just a functional vehicle.

India's electric vehicle market has been growing, driven by government incentives and rising consumer awareness about sustainable transportation. The three-wheeler segment plays a crucial role in India's commercial and passenger transport sectors. Electric three-wheelers have become popular in India's urban and semi-urban areas due to their lower operating costs compared to traditional fuel-powered vehicles. They are particularly used for last-mile connectivity and short-distance commercial transport.
