Volvo CE India has showcased a pioneering range of electric machines including excavators, wheel loaders and compactors at CII EXCON 2023. The range consists of zero-emission machines such as EC500, L120, EC80 and many more.

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) India has showcased an extensive range of sustainable electric machines at EXCON 2023, South Asia’s largest construction equipment event. The lineup included the EC 500 Grid Electric Excavator, L120 Electric Wheel Loader, EC80 Electric Excavator and many other electric machines.
In-Depth Details about the Showcased Volvo CE Machines
EC500 Grid Electric: Volvo CE launched the pioneering EC500, India’s first grid connected electric excavator in the 50 ton class. This machine will help reduce up to 90,000 kg of CO2 emissions annually as per the company. The company claims it is equivalent to 10 elephants, 25 Teslas or five medium duty trucks.
L120 Electric: Another innovative and sustainable addition to Volvo CE lineup is the L120 Electric Wheel Loader offering high performance for material handling applications at ports, plants, mines and construction sites. It also offers zero emissions, near silent operations and comfortable work environments.
EC80 Electric: Showcased as a near production prototype, the EC80 Electric, in addition to the already existing compact EC55 Electric, will deliver superior performance with 6-8 hours of autonomy due to the large battery.
Electric Compactors: Volvo CE also showcased two Indian developed electric compactors, DD40 and PT220 as technology concepts. The DD40 Electric Asphalt Compactor with advanced instrumentation and zero emissions, will offer up to 50% reduction in energy costs.
The PT220 Electric Asphalt Compactor will ensure cleaner and quieter operations for sensitive and urban environments with its zero emission operations. Volvo CE also displayed the 20 ton excavator, the EC210D at the event.
