THINK Gas Plans New LNG Stations in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu

Key Highlights:

  • THINK Gas is expanding its LNG network for heavy trucks with new stations in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
  • The company is upgrading its existing LCNG stations.
  • It currently operates India’s largest LNG truck fleet with 61 vehicles.
  • THINK Gas is introducing innovations like Net Metering for real-time fuel tracking and Boil-off Gas systems to reduce methane leaks.
  • The initiative aligns with India’s goal to increase natural gas use from 6% to 15% by 2030.

THINK Gas, a top City Gas Distribution company in India, is helping the country move towards low-emission transport. It is doing this by growing its LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) network for heavy trucks that travel long distances. New LNG stations will be set up in Anantapur and Nellore in Andhra Pradesh, and Vallam in Tamil Nadu’s Kanchipuram District. These locations are chosen to support the rising need for cleaner fuel in freight and logistics on major highways.

THINK Gas is adding LNG points to its current LCNG (Liquefied to Compressed Natural Gas) stations. This will use the same setup and make fuel delivery easier for truck fleets. Right now, the company has 18 LCNG stations and runs India’s biggest LNG truck fleet with 61 special vehicles. This ensures clean fuel reaches across the country without breaks.

Abhilesh Gupta, MD and CEO of THINK Gas, said that India is moving into a new energy phase. He shared that THINK Gas is proud to lead this change. Adding six new LNG hubs to their LCNG stations is a big step in promoting low-emission fuels for heavy trucks. It also helps in giving cheaper fuel options to support the country’s growth.

THINK Gas is not just building fuel stations, it is also bringing new ideas. The company has started Net Metering for LNG, which helps logistics partners check fuel use in real time. It also uses smart Boil-off Gas (BoG) systems at its stations to stop methane leaks. This keeps the LNG supply clean and safe for the environment.

THINK Gas is working closely with truck OEMs, retrofitters, and transporters to make sure more LNG trucks are available as it builds more fuel stations. The company is strong in busy transport areas like the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor and the Southern Economic Zone. This helps it play an important role in making freight transport cleaner in India. With its growing LNG network and smart services, THINK Gas is not only helping today’s transport system but also building a cleaner future for mobility in the country.

India plans to increase the use of natural gas in its total energy mix from around 6% to 15% by 2030. As more vehicle manufacturers join in, government policies support clean energy, and there is growing pressure to reduce pollution in transport, LNG is becoming a popular choice instead of diesel. It is better for the environment and also helps save money.
