The GST on commercial vehicles has been reduced to 18%, a move that Tata Motors has welcomed as a strong step towards boosting India’s transport and logistics sector.
Speaking about the decision, Mr. Girish Wagh, Executive Director, Tata Motors, said:
“The reduction in GST on commercial vehicles to 18% is a bold and timely step towards revitalizing India’s transport and logistics backbone. Inspired by the Prime Minister’s vision and the reforms announced by the GST Council, Tata Motors is proud to extend the full benefit of GST reduction on all our commercial vehicles to customers across the country. With our legacy of trust and future-ready mobility solutions, we remain the partner of choice for those who move India forward, empowering businesses, enabling mobility, and fueling growth.”
Commercial vehicles are the backbone of India’s economy, driving logistics, trade, and connectivity. Tata Motors believes that the reduction in vehicle prices will lower the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for transporters, fleet operators, and small businesses.
The reduced costs are expected to:
Encourage faster fleet modernization
Provide access to advanced and cleaner mobility solutions
Help transporters reduce operating expenses
Improve efficiency and boost profitability
The expected price reductions on Tata Motors commercial vehicles, effective 22nd September 2025, are as follows:
Product Category | Reduction in Price (₹) |
HCV (Heavy Commercial Vehicles) | 2,80,000 – 4,65,000 |
ILMCV (Intermediate & Light Medium CVs) | 1,00,000 – 3,00,000 |
Buses & Vans | 1,20,000 – 4,35,000 |
SCV Passenger | 52,000 – 66,000 |
SCV & Pickups | 30,000 – 1,10,000 |
Tata Motors has also advised customers to book their preferred vehicles early to ensure timely deliveries during the upcoming festive season.
