Tata Motors Sets New Record with 250 Patents Filed in FY25

Tata Motors, one of India's top automobile manufacturers, has set a new record by filing 250 patents and 148 design applications in the financial year 2025 (FY25). This is the highest number ever filed by the company in a single year. These filings cover a wide range of product and process innovations, keeping pace with major automotive trends such as Connectivity, Electrification, Sustainability, and Safety (CESS). In addition, Tata Motors is also working on future technologies like Hydrogen-Based Vehicles and Fuel Cells. The innovation drive extends across vehicle systems, including battery, powertrain, body, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and emission control systems.

Expanding Portfolio

Apart from patents and design applications, Tata Motors filed 81 copyright applications and secured 68 patent grants in FY25. This achievement brings the company's total granted patents to 918, further strengthening its portfolio.
