Tata Motors has launched its first Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) truck, the Prima 4440.S AMT, in Saudi Arabia. Built on the company's flagship Prima platform, this truck is designed to enhance driver comfort, fuel efficiency, and performance. It is equipped with a robust drivetrain, durable parts, and a comfortable cabin, all aimed at boosting productivity and profitability for customers.

Showcasing at HEAT Show in Dammam 

The launch took place at the Heavy Equipment and Trucks (HEAT) Show in Dammam. Alongside the Prima 4440.S AMT, Tata Motors displayed five other high-performance commercial vehicles. These trucks address the specific needs of Saudi Arabia’s transportation and logistics sectors. These trucks offers solutions for various applications in the market.

Tata Motors’ Commitment to Saudi Market 

Anurag Mehrotra, Head of International Business for Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, spoke at the HEAT Show. He highlighted Saudi Arabia as an important market for Tata Motors. Mehrotra emphasized that Tata Motors is committed to delivering advanced mobility solutions tailored to meet Saudi Arabia’s evolving demands. 

He explained that the Prima 4440.S AMT was crafted with smart features, reliability, and performance to support Saudi Arabia’s growth and add value for customers.

Strategic Partnership with Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors Co. 

Tata Motors partners with Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors Co. in Saudi Arabia. Together, they will provide value-added services to customers. This partnership offers customers access to a broad service network, skilled technicians, and genuine spare parts, helping to ensure vehicle uptime and customer satisfaction.

Azeem Khan, Managing Director of Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors Co., expressed confidence in this partnership, stating that the Prima 4440.S AMT would meet the growing needs of Saudi customers. He also reaffirmed the company’s dedication to after-sales support and smooth operations through a strong service network.

Features of the Prima 4440.S AMT 

The Prima 4440.S AMT is ideal for transporting containers, cars, and heavy equipment. Its advanced features include:

  • Load-Based Speed Control System to adjust speed based on load,
  • Shift-Down Protection to prevent unnecessary downshifts,
  • Vehicle Acceleration Management for smoother acceleration, and
  • Auto Start-Stop to improve fuel efficiency.

The truck is powered by a Euro-V compliant 8.9-liter Cummins engine, producing 400bhp of power and 1700Nm of torque, which enables it to handle heavy loads and difficult terrains with ease. 

Additionally, it has pneumatic suspension for better ride quality and durability. The cabin, designed with a pneumatically suspended seat and adjustable steering, prioritizes driver comfort and convenience.

Other Tata Motors vehicles on display at the HEAT show included:

  • Prima 4440.S – suitable for transporting containers, cars, and heavy equipment.
  • Prima 4040.T – built for fuel, water, and sewage transport.
  • Prima 4040.K – ideal for heavy-duty applications in construction and infrastructure.
  • Ultra T.7 – designed for urban transportation needs.

Global Presence of Tata Motors 

Tata Motors has a presence in over 40 countries, offering a wide commercial vehicle portfolio that includes vehicles from sub-1-tonne to 60-tonne cargo trucks and mass transit solutions for up to 71 passengers. Each vehicle is engineered and tested to meet the needs of local markets.
