​​Tata Motors Limited has announced a change in its senior management. The company’s Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and Senior Management Personnel (SMP) has resigned. The Board of Directors approved the resignation during its meeting on May 13, 2026. The Board also appointed a new CHRO, effective from May 29, 2026.​

Senior Management Transition

The outgoing CHRO, Kandi, submitted his resignation to the Board. In his letter, Kandi stated he was stepping down due to a proposed transition to another company within the Tata Group. He served as the CHRO and SMP at Tata Motors Limited. The Board accepted his resignation and moved forward with the appointment process.

New CHRO Appointment

The Board approved the appointment of DP Nambiar as the new Chief Human Resources Officer. DP Nambiar brings extensive experience in human resources management across India, Europe, and North America. He will assume his new responsibilities on May 29, 2026.

Professional Background of New CHRO

Before joining Tata Motors, Nambiar served as Vice-President and Head of HR – Geographies and Corporate Functions at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). At TCS, he led HR strategy for global business units and geographies. His responsibilities included overseeing recruitment, reskilling initiatives, organisational restructuring, labour code compliance, and employee engagement programmes.

DP Nambiar also acted as a spokesperson for TCS and chaired the NASSCOM Mumbai Chapter. His experience in HR leadership spans several regions and business functions, which the company highlighted in its disclosure.

The leadership change comes as Tata Motors continues to operate in competitive markets across India and internationally.
