Growth driven by mechanisation demand.
Sonalika Tractors has kicked off FY27 on a strong note by reporting total sales of 16,223 units in April 2026, marking its highest-ever April performance. The company registered an impressive 35.6% year-on-year growth, significantly higher than the estimated industry growth of 27% during the same period.
The April sales performance highlights Sonalika’s ability to outperform broader market trends. The company indicated that it has also gained market share at the start of the financial year, supported by strong demand across rural markets.
This growth comes at a time when the agricultural sector is seeing steady improvements, driven by higher foodgrain production and GST-led cost adjustments, which are making farm mechanisation more accessible to farmers.
Sonalika attributed its strong performance to the rising adoption of farm mechanisation in India. Farmers are increasingly turning to advanced equipment to improve productivity and manage operations more efficiently.
The company also pointed out that weather variability and growing expectations for better farm output are encouraging farmers to invest in modern tractors and technology-driven solutions.
Sonalika’s wide product portfolio continues to play a key role in its growth. The company currently serves over 19 lakh farmers and operates one of the largest integrated tractor manufacturing plants globally, supported by robust in-house research and development capabilities.
Its focus on innovation and efficient execution has helped the brand stay aligned with changing rural demand patterns.
Speaking on the performance, Raman Mittal, Joint Managing Director of International Tractors Limited, said that the strong April numbers reflect a clear shift towards technology-led farming.
He added that the company’s growth strategy for FY27 will focus on:
Continued product development
Expansion of farmer engagement initiatives
Strengthening technology-led offerings
Sonalika is also pushing forward with advanced products like its Gold Series tractors, which are designed to meet the evolving needs of modern farmers.
With a strong start to the financial year, Sonalika appears well-positioned to sustain its growth momentum. The company’s emphasis on innovation, farmer-centric solutions, and mechanisation trends is expected to support its performance in the coming months.
As rural demand continues to evolve, Sonalika’s strategy of combining technology with affordability could play a crucial role in maintaining its competitive edge in the Indian tractor market.
