Raghavendra Vaidya to become CIO from June 1, 2025.
Succeeds Marcus Claesson, who is stepping down.
Currently CEO of Daimler Truck Innovation Center India.
Has 25+ years of IT experience.
Led major digital initiatives at DTICI.
Daimler Truck has officially announced the appointment of Raghavendra Vaidya as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective June 1, 2025. The news was shared in India, where Vaidya is currently the Managing Director and CEO of Daimler Truck Innovation Center India (DTICI).
He will be replacing Marcus Claesson, who is stepping down voluntarily to explore other opportunities.
In his new global role as CIO, Raghavendra Vaidya will take charge of Daimler Truck’s complete IT operations. He will also continue to drive the company’s digital transformation, a process strongly pushed by his predecessor.
Vaidya brings with him more than 25 years of experience in various IT leadership roles, including his current successful tenure at DTICI in Bangalore.
Speaking on the appointment, Andreas Gorbach, Member of the Board of Management for Truck Technology, said:

Held senior leadership roles at General Electric before joining Daimler
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from R.V. College of Engineering, Bangalore
Master of Technology in Software Systems from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani
Outgoing CIO Marcus Claessonplayed a crucial role in building Daimler Truck’s standalone IT structure after the company separated from Daimler AG. He also led the vehicle connectivity program, which connected more than 1 million vehicles globally across all Daimler Truck brands.
“I thank Marcus for his contribution in setting up a standalone IT after our spin-off. He led major transformations and successfully connected over 1 million vehicles worldwide. We wish him all the best for his future.”
Daimler Truck has confirmed that the successor to Raghavendra Vaidya at DTICI will be announced in due course.
Raghavendra Vaidya’s appointment as CIO marks a strategic move by Daimler Truck to strengthen its digital future. With vast IT experience and proven leadership at DTICI, he is set to build on Marcus Claesson’s strong foundation and drive innovation across the company’s global IT and connectivity operations.
