These new models aim to strengthen Piaggio’s presence in India’s rapidly growing last-mile EV market.

Apé E-City Ultra: High Range and Power

The Apé E-City Ultra Electric three-wheeler is designed for customers who need a longer travel range and stronger performance in city and semi-urban routes. It is powered by a 10.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, offering a certified range of 236 km on a single charge. Here are the few key highlights:

  • Top speed: 55 kmph
  • Peak power: 9.55 kW
  • Torque: 45 Nm
  • Gradeability: 28% (suitable for inclines and flyovers)

It also comes with a 3 kW fast charger, climb assist mode, and a digital dashboard showing battery level, range, speed, and alerts. A notable tech addition is 4G telematics, which offers live tracking, geo-fencing, and remote immobilization. The vehicle has a full-metal body and is backed by a 5-year or 2,25,000 km warranty.

Apé E-City FX Maxx: Affordable Electric three-wheeler

  • Peak power: 7.4 kW
  • Torque: 30 Nm
  • Gradeability: 19%

The FX Maxx uses prismatic cell battery technology for better thermal performance and includes energy monitoring features that help users manage the battery life effectively. This model is suitable for typical city usage with lower power needs and shorter trip requirements.

Focus on Urban Needs and Sustainability

Piaggio officials stated that these new models aim to meet the growing demand for clean, efficient, and affordable urban mobility. The company also emphasized its commitment to India’s electric mobility mission by offering vehicles that reduce fuel costs, need less maintenance, and support sustainability in city transport.

CMV360 Says

In real-world use, Piaggio’s new electric three-wheelers seem like a smart and useful choice. For drivers who work in cities every day, like auto drivers, shuttle operators, or fleet owners, the long range and low running cost can make a difference. The climb assist and fast charging are helpful for daily traffic and busy schedules. With rising fuel prices, these EVs offer a cleaner and more affordable way to earn a living.
