Montra Electric's e-SCV division, TIVOLT Electric Vehicles Private Limited, opened its first electric small commercial vehicle dealership in Madhavaram, Chennai. This is the company's first e-SCV dealership in Tamil Nadu and South India, helping expand its presence in the region. The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Saju Nair, CEO of TIVOLT Electric Vehicles, and Mr. Madhu Raghunath, CEO of TVS Vehicle Mobility Solution, along with customers, financiers, and other guests.
The dealership is a 3S facility (Sales, Service, Spares, and Charging) and is operated in partnership with TVS Vehicle Mobility Solution Pvt. Ltd. The dealership will showcase Montra Electric's EVIATOR, which offers a certified range of 245 km and a real-world range of 170 km. The EVIATOR electric truck provides 80 kW power output and 300 Nm torque. It also comes with advanced telematics for fleet management.
The Montra Eviator comes in three options: Cowl, FSD (Normal Load Desk), and Container. Each option is designed for different needs. The Cowl is an open chassis. The FSD has a normal load desk for easy loading. The Container is fully enclosed for secure transport. Choose the one that best fits your business needs.
Montra Electric operates under TI Clean Mobility Private Limited, which is part of the Murugappa Group. The company operates across four key business segments: Heavy Commercial Vehicles, Small Commercial Vehicles,Three-wheelers, and Tractors.
Leadership Insights:
“We are excited to open our first dealership in Chennai,” said Mr. Nair. “This new facility strengthens our commitment to providing high-performance e-SCVs and helps us get closer to our customers.”
Mr. Raghunath also mentioned, “This dealership will not only reinforce Montra Electric’s leadership in the EV market but also improve customer access to reliable and efficient e-SCVs.”
India's electric commercial vehicle market is growing rapidly as businesses look for sustainable logistics solutions due to rising fuel costs and environmental concerns. The government's support for electric mobility through incentives has boosted adoption in the commercial sector. The expansion comes as demand for last-mile delivery solutions increases, especially in urban areas where emissions regulations are getting stricter. For Montra Electric, setting up in Tamil Nadu, is a strategic move to capture the southern market.

CMV360 Says
The opening of the dealership in Chennai is a smart step. Tamil Nadu offers the perfect base to expand into the southern market. With rising fuel costs and stricter emissions regulations, businesses are looking for more sustainable options, and Montra's EVIATOR seems like a solid choice. The warranty and fleet management features add more value, making it a competitive option for last-mile delivery services.
