Montra Electric, the clean mobility arm of the Murugappa Group, has announced a major expansion of its electric small commercial vehicle (eSCV) portfolio. The company has introduced two new variants, EVIATOR 350 (32kWh) and EVIATOR 350L+ (50kWh), aimed at meeting diverse logistics needs across India.
The newly launched variants are developed based on deep operational insights gathered from Montra Electric’s existing fleet. With over 600+ EVIATOR vehicles covering more than 65 lakh kilometers, the company has analyzed real-world usage patterns to create vehicles suited for specific duty cycles.
EVIATOR 350 (32kWh): Built for short-distance urban logistics, this variant is ideal for daily runs of up to 140 km, making it a strong choice for last-mile delivery operations.
EVIATOR 350L+ (50kWh): Designed for longer routes, it delivers a real-world range of 200+ km and a certified range of 300+ km, suitable for intercity transport and demanding applications like refrigerated logistics and municipal services.
With the addition of these variants, Montra Electric is shifting towards a duty-cycle-based vehicle strategy. Instead of offering a single standard product, the company now allows fleet operators to choose battery configurations based on their operational requirements.
The existing 40kWh EVIATOR continues to remain a key offering, while the new lineup provides more flexibility. This approach helps businesses:
Improve vehicle uptime
Reduce total cost of ownership (TCO)
Increase operational efficiency
Scale logistics operations with confidence
This expansion builds on the success of the EVIATOR 350L, launched in January 2025. Within just 11 months, the model has captured over 30% market share in the 3.5-ton segment, highlighting strong demand for electric commercial vehicles in India.
Jalaj Gupta, Managing Director, Montra Electric, highlighted that the future of EV adoption depends on how well vehicles fit into real-world operations. He emphasized that insights from extensive fleet data have enabled the company to develop solutions that directly improve efficiency, uptime, and return on investment.
Saju Nair, CEO (e-SCV Division), Montra Electric, added that the EVIATOR platform has already set benchmarks in performance and uptime. With the new variants, the company aims to serve a wider range of logistics applications, from last-mile delivery to long-haul transport, improving overall fleet economics.
With three battery options, 32kWh, 40kWh, and 50kWh, the EVIATOR range becomes the only electric small commercial vehicle platform in India designed around application-specific energy needs. This sets a new benchmark for flexibility and precision in the segment.
The new EVIATOR variants are competitively priced to suit different business needs:
EVIATOR 350 (32kWh): ₹14.58 lakh (introductory price)
EVIATOR 350L+ (50kWh): ₹16.86 lakh (introductory price)
The vehicles will soon be available across all Montra Electric dealerships. Customers will also get access to detailed comparison tools at dealerships to help them choose the right variant based on their operational and financial goals.
Montra Electric’s latest expansion reflects a clear shift towards smarter and more practical electric mobility solutions. By focusing on real-world applications and offering multiple battery options, the company is making electric trucks more usable, efficient, and cost-effective for businesses. This move is expected to accelerate EV adoption in India’s logistics sector while helping operators reduce costs and improve performance.
