The Maruti Eeco van has completed 15 years since its launch in 2010. Over the years, it has gained popularity among large families and business operators for its practicality and versatility.
Trusted Companion Across India
Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer of Marketing and Sales at Maruti Suzuki India, expressed gratitude for the van’s success. He stated, "Our Eeco has been a pillar of strength for our customers across the nation. From providing joy of mobility to powering livelihoods, the Eeco has earned its place as a trusted companion. With 63% of its sales coming from rural regions, it has proven its mettle in diverse markets.”
Multiple Variants for Varied Needs
The Maruti Eeco is available in 13 variants, catering to different needs, including 5-seater and 7-seater options, cargo models, tour versions, and ambulances. The van is powered by a 1.2-litre K-Series Dual Jet, Dual VVT petrol engine, which accounts for 57% of its sales.
Additionally, the S-CNG variant, reflecting the growing preference for eco-friendly fuels, contributes 43% to its overall sales.
Maruti Eeco: Transmission and Maneuverability
The Maruti Eeco is equipped with a five-speed manual transmission, ensuring smooth and effortless gear shifts, even in traffic-heavy situations.
With a 4.5-meter turning radius, the Eeco is designed for easy maneuverability, making it highly practical for navigating narrow urban streets and tight spaces. This feature enhances its utility as a compact van for both families and businesses.
Maruti Eeco: Features and Comfort
The Maruti Eeco is equipped with essential features aimed at enhancing convenience and comfort. Its variants come with air conditioning and a heater, ensuring a comfortable cabin environment across different seasons.
The digital instrument cluster includes a multi-trip meter, providing important driving information at a glance. For added comfort, the van features reclining front seats with integrated headrests and a sliding driver’s seat, offering flexibility for long journeys.
Practical features such as a 12V accessory socket and an illuminated hazard switch enhance usability in diverse conditions. Additionally, the Eeco is available in five- and seven-seat configurations, catering to varying passenger or luggage requirements.
These features make the Eeco a reliable option for both family and business needs. On the safety front, the Eeco has essential features such as a driver airbag, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, seatbelt reminders, and a high-speed alert system.
Maruti Eeco Price in India
The Maruti Eeco is priced competitively in the Indian market. The base model starts at ₹5.47 lakh, while the top model is available at ₹6.79 lakh (average ex-showroom price). This pricing makes the Eeco an affordable option for families and businesses seeking a practical and versatile van.
Maruti Eeco: Limitations
The Maruti Eeco lacks rear air conditioning vents, which can make the rear cabin uncomfortable in hot and humid weather. It also doesn't offer advanced infotainment or connectivity features, making it less appealing to tech-focused buyers. With a basic feature set, the Eeco is best suited for taxi fleets or those seeking practicality over advanced features.
Sales Performance
In FY2024, the Eeco recorded total sales of 137,139 units, marking a 4.50% year-on-year growth. During the first nine months of FY2025, 102,520 units have been sold, showing a slight 1.55% increase compared to the same period last year (April-December 2023: 100,954 units).
