Spotlight on Last-Mile Mobility at Auto Expo 2025

This year’s Bharat Mobility Global Expo is expected to focus on last-mile mobility solutions, small commercial vehicles (SCVs), and electric mobility advancements. Montra Electric is also planning to showcase an electric SCV, set to rival vehicles like the Mahindra Veero and Ashok Leyland Dost Lite.

About Ashok Leyland

Ashok Leyland, with its motto "Big on Comfort, Big on Performance, Big on Savings," is one of India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers. Headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, the company is chaired by Mr. Dheeraj J. Hinduja.

It is India’s second-largest commercial vehicle manufacturer and has introduced several industry-first technologies. Ashok Leyland was the first to launch full-air brakes and power steering in trucks in India. It also built the country’s first double-decker bus, showcasing its innovation in the automotive space.

In April 2017, the company introduced Intelligent Exhaust Gas Recirculation (iEGR) technology for engines up to 400 HP to meet BS-IV emission norms. This technology continues to support the company’s BS-VI vehicles, contributing to a cleaner and greener future.

CMV360 Says

Ashok Leyland’s decision to enter the last-mile mobility segment is a smart move, especially with the growing demand for efficient small commercial vehicles. Competing with strong players like Mahindra and Tata won’t be easy, but if the vehicle delivers on performance, payload capacity, and affordability, it could make its own space in the market. This launch has the potential to offer businesses a dependable new choice for last-mile deliveries, and it will be interesting to see how it performs against its rivals.
