Mahindra Veero pickup truck, set to launch on September 16, 2024, is generating excitement in the commercial vehicle market. This new vehicle will rival competitors like the Tata Intra and Ashok Leyland Dost. It features a powerful engine, versatile design, and advanced technology, making it an attractive option for urban businesses. Here’s a detailed look at the Mahindra Veero and what sets it apart.
For the first time, Mahindra is using a passenger vehicle (PV) engine in a commercial vehicle (CV). The Mahindra Veero is equipped with a 1493cc diesel engine, the same one powering the Bolero and Bolero Neo SUVs. This engine produces 59.68 kW of power (around 75 bhp) at 3200 RPM, delivering the performance required for heavy-duty tasks while ensuring reliability.
The Mahindra Veero is designed to fill the gap between Mahindra’s smaller commercial vehicles like Jeeto and Supro, and larger pickups like Bolero Pik-Up and Maxx. Its forward control design—where the cabin is placed above the front axle—ensures better maneuverability and a smaller turning radius, making it ideal for city driving.
The Veero pickup truck will come in multiple variants, with payload capacities ranging from 1.5 to 1.6 tonnes. Variants will also feature different load bed sizes, such as XL and XXL, and distinct suspension options like SD (Standard Duty) and HD (Heavy Duty).
Mahindra Veero offers a dual-tone front fascia, adding a stylish touch to its rugged body. Inside, it’s built for comfort and utility. The vehicle has a fully digital instrument cluster with a DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) level indicator, making it easier for drivers to monitor emissions and ensure efficiency. The gear selector is mounted on the dashboard, providing more space for the driver and passengers. There’s seating for three occupants, making it practical for transporting small teams or goods.
With its forward control design, the Mahindra Veero is perfect for navigating narrow city streets. Businesses that require easy access to tight urban areas will find this truck especially useful. At the same time, its powerful engine and robust build make it suitable for heavy-duty work, striking a balance between urban mobility and strength.
Before its official launch, some Mahindra Veero units have already been spotted with aftermarket modifications, such as roof carriers and taller steel bodies. This shows the truck’s versatility and potential for customization based on specific business needs.
The Mahindra Veero pickup truck is set to make waves in the commercial vehicle market, thanks to its Bolero-inspired engine, flexible variants, and forward control design. It promises city-friendly maneuverability and heavy-duty performance, making it an ideal choice for businesses looking for a reliable, powerful, and versatile commercial vehicle.
