Kia has unveiled an Australia-inspired camouflage wrap for the Kia Tasman, the brand's latest pickup truck. Kia's first pickup model is named after the rugged beauty and pioneering spirit of Tasmania, Australia's southernmost island.

The Tasman will make its debut in 2025, marking Kia's first foray into the C-segment pickup truck market. The global launch approach will be phased gradually, with important markets including Korea, Australia, Africa, and the Middle East.

The unusual wrap, themed around "The Path Never Taken," was created in partnership with renowned Australian and New Zealand artist Richard Boyd-Dunlop, and highlights the Tasman's adventurous character, according to the firm.

The stunning images, inspired by the wild beauty of Australia's different landscapes, depict an inspirational voyage encountered while driving along the coast and into the bush. The eye-catching exterior wrap design is inspired by Boyd-Dunlop's adventures across Australia, where he hitched rides in the back of pickup trucks, according to a media release.

"Our Tasman pickup truck personifies Kia's dedication to design and innovation, as well as its spirit of adventure. Artist Richard Boyd-Dunlop created a distinctive camouflage pattern with the Kia design team that symbolizes a trip and expresses an essence of adventure that is unique to the Tasman," says Karim Habib, Executive Vice President and Head of Kia Global design.

The idea of 'The Path Never Taken' captures the adventurous spirit of the Kia Tasman, inspiring customers to embark on travels of exploration and adventure in a vehicle that stresses dependability and performance. According to the statement, the Kia Tasman will guide travelers to unexplored and lovely locations using this theme.

"This design connects because it recalls my personal travels across Australia and the encounters I had. These experiences have influenced my work, and the Tasman allowed me to continue this by expressing the connection, joy, and simple sense of adventure that is inherent in Australian culture," Boyd-Dunlop stated.

Boyd-Dunlop, known for his unique artistic style and ability to combine multiple media to produce stunning and impactful collaborations, evokes elements of land and sea in his exclusive design for the Kia Tasman camouflage wrap. The finish combines fiery desert colors with powerful blues that honor Australia's prominent surf culture.

In addition to performing admirably as a work-oriented pickup, the Tasman is designed to accommodate the different personal needs of its customers. Kia's vehicle is ideal for a rigorous 24/7 lifestyle and can support even the most intense recreational activities, according to the announcement.
