IntrCity SmartBus, one of India's top inter-city mobility platforms, has launched what it believes the industry's first 'smart luggage tag' feature. The company claims that by leveraging technology, it provides a secure and effective service that fits the changing needs of today's travellers.
Over 200,000 IntrCity SmartBus passengers will benefit from the new function, which will be offered on more than 630 routes throughout 16 states. The digital luggage tag is smartly designed to make luggage handling easier for travelers using IntrCity SmartBus services.
As passengers take off, they hand over their luggage to the professional Bus Captains, who swiftly gather critical information about the luggage's look and destination using a secure digital system.
Furthermore, by minimizing the use of paper tags, IntrCity SmartBus hopes to actively support a more environmentally responsible future. This sustainable strategy not only eliminates waste, but also contributes to today's crucial sustainability initiatives.
What distinguishes this feature is its utilization of cutting-edge technology to generate a unique One-Time Password (OTP) associated with the passenger's contact number. This OTP serves as a secure confirmation of the luggage's status, greatly improving efficiency and eradicating the uncertainties commonly encountered with traditional luggage handling methods.
Manish Rathi, Co-founder & CEO of IntrCity SmartBus, remarked, "We understand the challenges and anxieties associated with managing luggage while travelling. The introduction of the Digital Luggage Tag feature is our solution to these concerns, ensuring our passengers experience smooth and stress-free journeys. Moreover, our commitment to innovation and passenger convenience remains steadfast. From introducing personalized assistance through SmartBus Captains to pioneering the inclusion of urinals inside our buses, along with comfortable boarding lounges for seamless embarkation experiences, we continuously strive to redefine the benchmarks of intercity bus travel in India."
At departure, passengers have to provide the OTP to their Bus Captain, confirming their luggage and initiating a secure and comfortable journey. Prioritizing safety above all else, the Digital Luggage Tag feature provides an additional layer of security, offering passengers peace of mind throughout their travels.
