FlixBus Launches Operations in India, Redefining Intercity Travel

FlixBus has partnered with local bus operators to establish its network across major states, including Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.

FlixBus, a global leader in intercity passenger transportation, has officially started its operations in India, making it the 43rd country in its extensive network. This move aims to revolutionize travel in the second-largest bus market globally by introducing convenience and competitive pricing.

FlixBus has partnered with local bus operators to establish its network across major states, including Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. The company's services will cover 46 destination cities, offering a wide range of travel options.

Customer-Centric Services Introduced

In response to local demands, FlixBus is rolling out dedicated services to enhance the passenger experience. These include gender seating, a 24x7 incident response team, a traffic control ward, and 2-point seat belts for all seats. The company ensures top-quality buses, are not older than three years and have travelled fewer than 500 km.

Safety Features of FlixBus

FlixBus places a strong emphasis on safety, with each bus equipped with ABS (anti-blocking braking system) and ESC (electronic stability system), setting the benchmark for safety standards in the industry.

Special Launch Offer and Inaugural Routes

To celebrate the launch, FlixBus is offering tickets at a special price starting from just INR 99. The inaugural routes are set to begin on February 6th, connecting Delhi with various destinations like Ayodhya, Chandigarh, Jaipur, and many more. The routes will cover 59 stops and over 200 connections in total.

Surya Khurana, the Managing Director of FlixBus India, conveyed his enthusiasm regarding the launch of their services in India. He emphasized, "Our unwavering dedication to ensuring safety, providing comfort, and delivering cost-effective travel experiences positions us as the preferred global option for the millions of travellers exploring a variety of destinations."

André Schwämmlein, CEO of Flix, highlighted FlixBus's global mission to provide sustainable, safe, and affordable travel options. He sees the expansion into India as a significant opportunity to transform the mobility landscape.

Dr. Philipp Ackermann, the German Ambassador to India, praised FlixBus for its sustainable business approach and steadfast commitment to minimizing CO2 emissions. He stressed the collective effort required to make bus travel more convenient and accessible globally.

Ticket Sales Now Open

Tickets for FlixBus India are available on the company's website, promising an efficient and seamless travel experience. The company leverages its proprietary tech platform and collaborates with local operators to optimize growth and efficiency, introducing premium bus models with BS6 engines for environmental sustainability.
