Indore is set to welcome its first double-decker bus, making it the first of its kind in a tier-two city in India. Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava announced this exciting news on Sunday, saying that the bus will soon be available for the public after some trial runs and route planning.
The new double-decker bus can carry up to 60 passengers. It will be operated by Atal Indore City Transport Services Limited (AICTSL). Mayor Bhargava expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “After long-standing efforts, we have successfully brought the double-decker bus to Indore. The wait is over for the city residents.”
Currently, only one double-decker bus is arriving in Indore. The bus will start operating once the route is finalized in about a week. If this service proves to be successful, the city plans to add more double-decker buses in the future.
This new bus service is expected to enhance public transport in Indore, providing a unique and enjoyable travel experience for residents.
The introduction of the double-decker bus in Indore marks a significant milestone for the city’s public transport. With a capacity of 60 passengers and the potential for more buses in the future, this initiative aims to improve commuting options and enhance the travel experience for residents. Stay tuned for updates on the bus's launch and the routes it will take!
