India's three-wheeler retail market continued its strong growth momentum in July 2026, with retail sales crossing the 1.33 lakh-unit mark. According to the latest retail data released by FADA (Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations), total three-wheeler sales stood at 1,33,778 units, registering a 6.89% month-on-month (MoM) increase over June 2026 and a 16.16% year-on-year (YoY) growth compared to July 2025.

The market's growth was driven by robust demand for passenger and goods three-wheelers, supported by rising last-mile mobility and cargo transportation needs across the country. While passenger e-rickshaw sales declined on a yearly basis, conventional passenger and cargo three-wheelers continued to witness strong retail demand.

India's three-wheeler market maintained its positive trajectory during July 2026, with retail sales increasing from 1,25,158 units in June 2026 to 1,33,778 units.

Compared to 1,15,166 units sold in July 2025, the market recorded a healthy 16.16% YoY growth, highlighting sustained demand across passenger mobility and commercial transportation.

Passenger Three-Wheelers

Passenger three-wheelers remained the largest category during July 2026 with 76,236 units retailed.

The segment recorded 7.81% MoM and 31.55% YoY growth, reflecting continued demand for urban and rural passenger mobility services.

Goods Three-Wheelers

Goods carriers registered 15,366 units during the month.

Retail sales grew 3.20% MoM while posting an impressive 47.00% YoY increase, making it one of the fastest-growing segments in the three-wheeler industry.

Passenger E-Rickshaws

Passenger e-rickshaws recorded 34,722 units in July 2026.

Although sales improved 8.06% compared to June 2026, the segment declined 12.71% YoY, indicating softer demand compared to last year.

E-Rickshaw with Cart (Goods)

Electric cargo three-wheelers retailed 7,280 units.

The category witnessed a marginal 0.31% monthly decline, but still delivered 5.69% annual growth, reflecting stable demand in the cargo EV segment.

Personal Three-Wheelers

The personal-use category remained the smallest segment with 174 units sold.

Despite its small size, it recorded the strongest percentage growth, increasing 40.32% MoM and 81.25% YoY.

India's three-wheeler retail market continued to witness healthy competition among leading manufacturers. Bajaj Auto maintained its leadership, while Mahindra, Piaggio, TVS Motor and Atul Auto strengthened their retail presence during the month.

Mahindra Group

Mahindra continued to strengthen its position in the three-wheeler market.

  • Mahindra & Mahindra Limited retailed 14,823 units, capturing an 11.08% market share.

  • Mahindra Last Mile Mobility alone contributed 14,807 units with an 11.07% share.

The Mahindra Group registered strong year-on-year growth and further expanded its presence in India's last-mile mobility segment.

Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd

Piaggio Vehicles retailed 9,598 units, securing a 7.17% market share. The company improved both its retail volumes and market presence compared to the previous year.

TVS Motor Company Ltd

TVS Motor sold 7,294 units, achieving a 5.45% market share. The company continued its strong growth momentum with a significant increase in retail sales over July 2025.

Atul Auto Ltd

Atul Auto retailed 3,066 units and held a 2.29% market share, posting healthy year-on-year growth.

YC Electric Vehicle

YC Electric sold 2,388 units, accounting for a 1.79% market share. However, the company witnessed a decline in both retail volume and market share compared to July 2025.

Dilli Electric Auto retailed 1,843 units, holding a 1.38% market share. Sales were slightly lower than the previous year.
