Leadership Insights:
FADA President Mr. C S Vigneshwar shared his perspective on the Auto Retail performance for March 2025: "The first three weeks of March were notably weak, mainly due to the Kharmas period. However, sales picked up significantly in the last week, driven by positive factors such as Navratri, Gudi Padwa, Eid, and year-end purchases influenced by depreciation benefits. Overall, retail sales showed a YoY decline of 0.7% but saw a MoM increase of 12%. Among the segments, 2W, 3W, and Trac experienced YoY drops of 1.7%, 5.6%, and 5.7%, respectively, while PV and CV grew by 6% and 2.6% YoY. All segments performed positively on a MoM basis. Dealers across segments raised concerns about exceptionally high targets, which were often set without joint agreement. It is important for OEMs and Dealers to work together to set realistic targets that align with on-ground realities. While incentives and festival-driven sales did push results higher, dealers remain cautious about high stock levels and pressure from targets as the new financial year begins."

CMV360 Says
The February 2025 sales figures reflect the challenges faced by the three-wheeler segment, with notable year-on-year declines for several categories. While a slight recovery was seen in March 2025, driven by festival and year-end buying, the market remains cautious. Dealers are concerned about high stock levels and tough targets, which could cause problems in the future. Manufacturers and dealers need to set more realistic goals moving forward.
