Exponent Energy, an EV tech startup based in Bengaluru, has been named to the World Economic Forum’s 2025 Technology Pioneers list. This annual list includes 100 early-stage companies from 28 countries that are pushing the boundaries of innovation across various industries.

This year, ten Indian startups secured a place on the prestigious list. These companies work in fields like space, robotics, logistics, healthcare, and clean energy. Among them, Exponent Energy stood out for its game-changing contribution to the electric vehicle sector.

Recharging EVs in 15 Minutes

Exponent Energy has built a unique charging system that can power an EV battery from 0% to 100% in just 15 minutes. What makes it more impressive is that it delivers this speed while ensuring a battery life of 3,000 charging cycles. It also works with standard lithium-ion cells, making it easier to adopt across existing platforms.

About Exponent Energy

Founded in 2020 by Arun Vinayak and Sanjay Byalal Jagannath, Exponent Energy has quickly grown in the EV space. So far, it has raised $44.6 million in funding through Pre-Series A, Series A, and Series B rounds. Major investors include Lightspeed Venture Partners, Eight Roads Ventures, YourNest VC, 3one4 Capital, AdvantEdge VC, and the family office of Dr. Pawan Munjal, Chairman and CEO of Hero MotoCorp.

Tech Already On the Roads

More than 2,000 electric vehicles across major cities like Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Hyderabad already use Exponent’s fast-charging technology. The company is creating an ecosystem designed to meet the needs of commercial EV users who rely on quick turnaround times.

  • Agnikul – Providing launch services for small satellites
  • CynLr – Developing intelligent robots for factory automation
  • Dezy – Using AI for dental diagnostics
  • Digantara – Offering tools for space tracking and management
  • Equal – Enabling identity checks and financial data sharing
  • Freight Tiger – Building software networks for freight logistics
  • GalaxEye – Creating Earth observation tools using multi-sensor satellites
  • SolarSquare – Delivering rooftop solar solutions for homes
  • The ePlane Co. – Designing electric air taxis for urban mobility

Forum’s Recognition and Global Platform

The World Economic Forum started the Technology Pioneers program in 2000. It aims to highlight startups that have the potential to reshape industries. Chosen companies join a two-year program that includes access to global events and collaboration with other innovators. One of these key events is the Annual Meeting of the New Champions, held from June 24 to 26 in Tianjin, China.
