Electric Bus Sales Report - July 2026

A total of 548 electric buses were registered across India during July 2026, down by 184 units from the 732 buses registered in June 2026. The decline reflects slower fleet additions during the month, although demand continues to remain concentrated among leading OEMs.

Olectra Greentech Leads the Market

Olectra Greentech remained India's largest electric bus manufacturer in July 2026 with 132 bus registrations, improving from 127 units in June. The company registered a 3.9% monthly growth and captured the highest market share of 24.1%.

The consistent performance helped Olectra strengthen its leadership despite the overall market slowdown.

JBM Electric Vehicles Holds Strong Second Position

JBM Electric Vehicles recorded 118 electric bus registrations, exactly the same as in June 2026. With no month-on-month change, the company maintained a solid 21.5% market share, jointly ranking second in the industry.

Its stable performance highlights steady execution in an otherwise declining market.

PMI Electro Mobility Also Registers 118 Units

PMI Electro Mobility reported 118 registrations in July 2026, compared to 176 units in June. The company saw a decline of 58 buses, translating into a 33% drop month-on-month.

Even after the decline, PMI retained a 21.5% market share, sharing the second position with JBM Electric Vehicles.

Switch Mobility Sees Sharpest Decline Among Major OEMs

Switch Mobility experienced one of the steepest declines during the month. The company registered 53 electric buses, down from 175 units in June 2026.

This represents a fall of 122 buses or 69.7%, reducing its market share to 9.7%.

Pinnacle Mobility Delivers Stable Performance

Pinnacle Mobility reported 52 registrations in July, maintaining the same sales level as June 2026.

The company secured a 9.5% market share, reflecting stable demand despite the broader market decline.

VE Commercial Vehicles Records Slight Dip

VE Commercial Vehicles registered 41 electric buses, marginally lower than 42 units in June.

The company witnessed a 2.4% decline, while holding a 7.5% share of the July market.

Aeroeagle Automobiles Posts Highest Growth

Among all manufacturers, Aeroeagle Automobiles emerged as the fastest-growing OEM.

The company registered 24 buses, more than doubling its June sales of 11 units. This represents an impressive 118.2% growth, giving it a 4.4% market share.

Tata Motors Reports Significant Drop

Tata Motors recorded only 5 electric bus registrations in July 2026, compared to 21 units in June.

The decline of 76.2% reduced its market share to 0.9% during the month.

Market Outlook

The electric bus industry experienced a softer month in July 2026, primarily due to lower registrations from several major OEMs. However, market leadership remained concentrated among Olectra Greentech, JBM Electric Vehicles, and PMI Electro Mobility, which together accounted for over 67% of total registrations. While overall registrations declined, strong growth from Aeroeagle Automobiles and stable performance from a few manufacturers indicate that competition in India's electric bus segment continues to evolve as fleet procurement cycles progress.
