Key Highlights:
EKA Mobility, a subsidiary of Pinnacle Mobility Solutions Pvt. Ltd., has secured a major order from the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) to supply 250 electric buses. This move is part of NMC’s efforts to improve public transport by introducing eco-friendly and efficient buses to the city.
Hansa Vahan India Private Limited Partnership
The contract was awarded to Hansa Vahan India Private Limited, formerly known as M/s Hansa Travels, which has teamed up with EKA Mobility. EKA will manufacture and supply 12-meter air-conditioned electric buses, which will be maintained by the company throughout the contract period. Each bus can seat 41 passengers, with space for 24 standing passengers.
Key Routes and Benefits
The new fleet of electric buses will operate on key routes across Nagpur. These buses are expected to improve the city's public transport system and reduce operational costs and emissions, aligning with the city's sustainability goals.
EKA Mobility's Vision and Growth
Rohit Srivastava, Chief Growth Officer of EKA Mobility, highlighted that the partnership supports India’s shift to cleaner energy in public transportation. He also mentioned that this order strengthens EKA's position in the electric vehicle industry, as the company continues to provide sustainable solutions to cities across the country.
Past Projects and Partnerships
EKA Mobility, with backing from equity partners Mitsui Co., Ltd. (Japan) and VDL Groep (Netherlands), has previously deployed electric buses in Delhi and Pune for shuttle services, as well as for IKEA's delivery vans in India.
