ChargeZone acquires Fresh Bus charging network.
Expands to Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, and Mysore.
Fresh Bus fleet to grow beyond 5,000 buses.
Renewable energy integration planned for key hubs.
Over 13,500 charging points are already operational.
ChargeZone, India’s largest EV charging network, has completed the acquisition of Fresh Bus’s charging station network, marking a major step toward expanding intercity electric bus charging infrastructure, especially in southern India.
This acquisition gives ChargeZone access to strategically located charging stations in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Mysore, Tirupati, Guntur, and Visakhapatnam. These locations will be part of ChargeZone’s nationwide intercity supercharging project designed specifically for electric buses.
Fresh Bus, an all-electric intercity bus service, connects these major cities and has ambitious plans to expand its fleet to over 5,000 electric buses within the next five years.
Under the agreement, Fresh Bus will receive priority access to ChargeZone’s newly acquired charging facilities, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted operations for its growing bus fleet. The charging stations will also be open to other electric vehicle fleets, increasing network utilization and efficiency.
As part of this collaboration, ChargeZone and Fresh Bus will work together to integrate renewable energy sources at select charging locations in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, and Vijayawada, further promoting sustainable electric mobility.
Kartikey Hariyani, founder and CEO of ChargeZone, stated that this acquisition is a crucial step toward creating India’s largest intercity supercharging network for electric buses. He highlighted ChargeZone’s mission to provide reliable and accessible charging infrastructure that supports long-distance electric travel.
Fresh Bus founder Sudhakar Reddy emphasized that the company has been collaborating with ChargeZone since 2023. He added that this move will help improve operational efficiency and ensure better management of charging facilities with dedicated surveillance systems.
Currently, ChargeZone operates over 13,500 charging points across 1,200 locations in India and the UAE. The company has set a long-term goal to establish one million charging points, supporting India’s rapidly growing EV ecosystem.
Fresh Bus positions itself as a premium all-electric intercity bus service, offering air-conditioned cabins, real-time tracking, and advanced safety features for a superior travel experience.
This partnership supports India’s mission to develop a robust charging infrastructure for commercial EVs, aligned with government policies and incentives promoting clean mobility adoption.
