Blackbuck EV Kicks Off Road Trials for ELON 3X Electric Bus at Hyderabad Plant

Blackbuck EV begins testing of the ELON 3X electric bus. Blackbuck EV stated that road trials of their ELON 3X, a three-axle, 13-meter bus, have begun at their Hyderabad plant. The vehicles will be validated and tested before certification. 

"We now look forward to bringing our first model, the ELON 3X, to market in early 2025, built by our upcoming Micro-factories in Hyderabad," stated Ramakrishnam Raju, Founder & CEO of Blackbuck EV. 

Following proving ground trials, the Blackbuck EV will begin public road trials of the bus with one of India's most reputable transportation companies in Q1 2025. Production is planned to start in Q1 2025. 

According to Mr. Ramakrishnam Raju, Founder and CEO, Blackbuck EV was founded in 2019 to revolutionize India's bus business. We realized the need for a paradigm change, a departure from previous practices that were no longer viable or responsive to our country's particular needs.

Unlike contemporary electric buses that are adapted from diesel vehicles, our approach has been from the ground up, with substantial research and development focused on establishing a sophisticated modular skateboard platform. This electric bus will offer maximum comfort, dependability, and safety for passengers while providing fleet operators with a cost-effective, more efficient, long-lasting, and low-maintenance solution that ensures a speedy return on investment.

Our commitment to lowering carbon emissions extends beyond the vehicle. Every part of our process, from employing recyclable materials to minimizing production welding, is designed to be sustainable.

Furthermore, the company understand the nuances of the Indian market - the preference for long and overnight journeys, the need for superior suspension systems to navigate diverse road conditions, noise-free cabins, and well-designed sleeper beds - and have meticulously incorporated these insights into the design of the ELON 3X.
