Key Highlights:

  • Battery Smart has completed 50 million battery swaps on its network for electric two- and three-wheelers.
  • The company operates over 1,400 swapping stations in more than 35 cities across India.
  • Around 60,000 drivers use Battery Smart’s battery-as-a-service model to swap depleted batteries.
  • Battery swapping reduces range anxiety, improves efficiency, and lowers upfront costs for EV drivers.
  • Battery Smart is expanding through partnerships with local businesses and aligns with the PM E-DRIVE initiative.

Battery Smart, an electric vehicle (EV) battery-swapping network for two- and three-wheelers, has achieved a major milestone by completing 50 million battery swaps across its network. The company has grown to over 1,400 swapping stations in more than 35 cities across India since its inception.

Supporting 60,000 EV Drivers

Currently, Battery Smart's network supports around 60,000 drivers with its battery-as-a-service model. This model addresses key challenges to EV adoption, such as range anxiety and high upfront battery costs. Drivers can swap depleted batteries for fully charged ones in about two minutes, significantly improving efficiency for EV operators.

CEO Highlights Key Milestone

Pulkit Khurana, co-founder and CEO of Battery Smart, emphasized the importance of this achievement. He stated, "Reaching 50 million battery swaps is more than just a milestone; it reflects our unwavering dedication to ensuring that EV adoption is both accessible and affordable."

Expansion Strategy and Partnerships

Battery Smart has focused on partnering with local businesses to expand its network, especially in regions where charging infrastructure is limited. This approach ensures greater EV accessibility in these areas, contributing to the broader adoption of electric two and electric three-wheelers in the country.

Government Support for Battery Swapping

The completion of this milestone comes at a time when the Indian government is promoting electric vehicle adoption through initiatives like the PM E-DRIVE scheme. Recent guidelines released by the Ministry of Power for battery swapping further support the growth of the EV ecosystem.

Battery Smart reaching 50 million battery swaps marks significant progress in India’s electric vehicle sector. The company’s focus on convenience and cost efficiency for drivers has helped remove some of the biggest hurdles in EV adoption. With continued government support and strategic partnerships, the future of EVs in India looks increasingly promising.
