Mahindra BLAZO i-TRK range gets 320 HP power, AI fuel technology, iMAXX telematics, 48-hour uptime guarantee and multiple haulage, tipper and tractor-trailer models.
By Robin Kumar Attri
India’s heavy commercial vehicle market is becoming increasingly focused on fuel savings, uptime, connected technology and overall profitability rather than simply buying a truck with a higher payload. Mahindra Truck and Bus has entered this evolving space with the new BLAZO i-TRK range, designed to address a wide mix of haulage, construction, mining and long-distance transport requirements.
The new range brings together haulage trucks, tippers and tractor-trailers, all powered by a 320 HP mPower engine and supported by technologies such as AI-powered iFuelSmart, iMAXX connected fleet technology and a 48-hour Uptime Guarantee. Mahindra says these features can help customers earn up to ₹15 lakh additional profit per truck over five years.
At the same time, the range is not limited to one application. The BLAZO i-TRK 28, 35 Lift Axle, 42, 48 and 49 10x2 target different cargo operations, while the 28 and 35 Tippers are aimed at demanding construction and mining work. The 40, 46 and 55 tractor-trailer models focus on heavy-duty goods transportation.
With brands such as Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland and BharatBenz already competing strongly in India's heavy truck market, can Mahindra's focus on fuel efficiency, uptime and connected fleet control give the BLAZO i-TRK a stronger advantage for modern transporters?
Mahindra has built the BLAZO i-TRK around three core promises: Earn More, Run More and Control More. The idea is to improve the complete ownership experience rather than focusing only on engine output.
All models use the 7.2-litre, six-cylinder mPower engine, which develops 320 HP at 2,200 rpm and 1,100 Nm of peak torque between 1,100 and 1,700 rpm. The broad torque band is particularly useful for heavy loads and highway operations because it provides strong pulling power without requiring frequent gear changes.
The range comes with BS6 technology, full-air S-Cam dual-circuit ABS and multiple transmission options. The 28, 35 and 42 models use Eaton 6-speed transmissions, while the heavier haulage models use Eaton 9-speed gearboxes. The BLAZO i-TRK 55 6x4 gets a ZF 9-speed manual synchromesh transmission.
Model | GVW | Wheelbase | Gradeability |
BLAZO i-TRK 28 | 28,000 kg | 5,000/5,350/6,600 mm | 22.30% |
BLAZO i-TRK 35 Lift Axle | 35,000 kg | 5,600/6,100 mm | 20.70% |
BLAZO i-TRK 42 | 42,000 kg | 6,770 mm | 18.60% |
BLAZO i-TRK 48 | 47,500 kg | 7,100 mm | 20.90% |
BLAZO i-TRK 49 10x2 | 49,000 kg | 6,955 mm | 21.50% |
These trucks are designed for applications including industrial cargo, FMCG, construction materials and long-distance transportation. Different wheelbases and deck lengths allow operators to select a configuration according to their body requirements and operating conditions.
For customers working in construction, mining and infrastructure, Mahindra has introduced two tipper versions.
Model | GVW | Body Options | Gradeability |
BLAZO i-TRK 28 Tipper | 28,000 kg | 16 CuM Box / 14 CuM Rock | 46.50% |
BLAZO i-TRK 35 Tipper | 35,000 kg | 22 CuM Box | 37.70% |
Both use a 9-speed Eaton gearbox and inverted bogie suspension. The 28 Tipper offers a 16 CuM box or 14 CuM rock body, while the 35 Tipper gets a 22 CuM box body.
Their high gradeability makes them particularly suited to operations where trucks regularly encounter steep gradients, construction sites and difficult terrain.
Mahindra has also introduced three BLAZO i-TRK tractor-trailer models: 40 4x2, 46 4x2 and 55 6x4.
Model | GCW | Wheelbase | Gradeability |
BLAZO i-TRK 40 4x2 | 39,500 kg | 3,075/3,600 mm | 16.50% |
BLAZO i-TRK 46 4x2 | 45,500 kg | 3,600 mm | 15.90% |
BLAZO i-TRK 55 6x4 | 55,000 kg | 4,100 mm | 18.90% |
The BLAZO i-TRK 55 6x4 is the highest-rated tractor model in the lineup, with a 55-tonne GCW. The 40 and 46 use Eaton 6-speed transmissions, while the 55 gets a ZF 9-speed manual synchromesh gearbox.
Fuel economy is one of the biggest selling points of the new BLAZO i-TRK. Mahindra claims up to 10% better fuel efficiency, supported by a combination of engine hardware and software.
The key technology is iFuelSmart, an AI-powered automatic drive mode that considers road gradients, payload and driving conditions before selecting the appropriate operating mode. This reduces the need for drivers to manually adjust driving modes as conditions change.
The trucks also use TurboMAXX and OptiFuel technologies. TurboMAXX improves engine airflow and supports stronger low-end torque, while OptiFuel helps reduce unnecessary power consumption by the air compressor.
According to Mahindra, the resulting fuel and operating-cost savings can contribute to up to ₹15 lakh additional profit per truck over five years.

For commercial vehicle operators, a truck sitting in a workshop means lost trips and lost revenue. Mahindra is therefore offering an industry-first 48-hour Uptime Guarantee with the BLAZO i-TRK.
Under the eligible programme, customers can receive ₹10,000 per day if Mahindra does not return the vehicle to the road within the committed 48-hour period.
Mahindra Quick Service Points are positioned within 75 km on National Highways and 50 km on State Highways, while the Parts Supply Guarantee covers 250 critical parts across the dealer network. If an eligible guaranteed part is unavailable within the committed 24-hour period, the customer can receive the respective part free of cost, subject to programme terms.
The iMAXX 2.0 connected vehicle platform adds another layer of control for fleet operators. It provides real-time information about vehicle health, performance, maintenance and driver behaviour.
Features include Remote AC Management, Remote Vehicle Crank Inhibit, Air Filter Clogging Alerts, DPF Performance Alerts and Distance-to-Empty monitoring for diesel and AdBlue.
FleetSense reports and ScoreMAXX Driver Performance Analytics can help owners understand driving patterns and identify areas for better efficiency. An optional Driver Monitoring System can also track safety events, driver recognition, seat-belt usage and signs of fatigue or drowsiness.
The Driver Information System further displays fuel-efficiency data, trip information, service reminders, vehicle performance and important alerts.
Mahindra has not ignored the driver experience. The BLAZO i-TRK gets a COMFiMAXX mechanically suspended seat, designed to reduce road shocks and vibrations while adjusting according to driver weight.
The trucks also feature EzyCruise cruise control, which can make long highway journeys less tiring and support more consistent driving.
The AC cabin comes with Bluetooth music connectivity, FM/AM radio, USB charging, AUX support and a dedicated microphone for hands-free communication. The four-point suspended cabin further focuses on reducing vibrations during long-distance operations.
The BLAZO i-TRK follows Mahindra's INTELLICORE design philosophy, featuring a wide grille, full-size headlamps and a driver-oriented cabin layout.
Its Aerokit-ready body design allows easier installation of an aero kit, potentially improving aerodynamic efficiency and fuel economy. Being factory-engineered, the provision can also help avoid issues such as leakage, rust and structural damage that may occur with unsuitable aftermarket modifications.
The 9-speed transmission models receive a 430 mm heavy-duty clutch with an integrated wear indicator. Its larger design supports torque transfer and heat dissipation while potentially improving clutch life and reducing maintenance requirements.
Mahindra also offers mCARE Annual Maintenance Contracts and Extended Warranty plans, including 6Y/6L and 8Y/8L options. Tipper customers can opt for extended warranty coverage ranging from 6,000 to 10,000 hours.
The NOW 24x7 mobile app connects customers with Mahindra's service ecosystem. Fleet owners can raise and track breakdown requests, book service appointments, check service history and request roadside assistance.
They can also monitor the live location of a breakdown van, order spare parts and access digital repair approvals and service updates. This can reduce the effort involved in managing multiple service requirements across a commercial fleet.
The BLAZO i-TRK range is clearly designed around the economics of trucking. Its major advantages include:
