The central and state governments offer subsidies to farmers for purchasing tractors. This subsidy helps farmers buy tractors at a lower cost, making farming easier and more efficient.

The central government runs the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM) scheme to help small and marginal farmers. Under this scheme, eligible farmers can get a subsidy of 20% to 50% on tractor purchases. Special priority is given to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and women farmers.
Subsidy Example:
If a farmer buys a tractor worth ₹5 lakh, they may receive up to ₹2.5 lakh as a subsidy, reducing the effective cost to ₹2.5 lakh.
To apply for the subsidy, farmers must meet the following criteria:
Must be an Indian citizen.
Must own cultivable land.
Should not own a tractor under any other subsidy scheme.
Farmers need the following documents to apply:
Aadhaar card
Passport-size photo
Record of Right to Land (RoR)
Copy of the bank passbook
Any valid identity proof (Aadhaar, Voter ID, PAN, etc.)
Caste certificate (if applicable for SC/ST/OBC farmers)

Follow these steps to apply for the tractor subsidy:
Visit the official website: agrimachinery.nic.in.
Click on "Direct Benefit Transfer in Agriculture Mechanization" on the homepage.
Register as a farmer by selecting your state and entering your Aadhaar number.
Fill in the necessary details and upload all required documents.
Submit the form to complete the application process.
Ensure all information matches the Aadhaar card.
Select the correct district, block, and village from the drop-down options.
Provide accurate details for farmer category (SC/ST/General), type (Small/Marginal/Large), and gender.
Incorrect information may lead to application rejection.
