Key Highlights
The government is introducing a Mini Tractor Scheme that gives mini tractors and necessary accessories for Rs 35,000 as a major boost to small farmers across the country. What distinguishes this scheme is its focus on poor farmers to reduce agricultural expenses. The Tractor Subsidy Scheme provides yearly subsidies on tractors while the Mini Tractor Scheme promises a lot of benefits also with online applications expected to start soon.
The government has started a campaign to provide tractors to the poor farmers by acknowledging the vital roles that are played by these small scale farmers in our agriculture. This scheme gives a 90% discount on mini tractors, rotavators, cultivators, and trailers. Farmers are only required to contribute 35000 rupees towards it. It specifically targets farmer families in Maharashtra where the majority of them live below the poverty line hence they have to take loans for farming purposes. The Mini Tractor Scheme by the Social Welfare Department of Maharashtra aims to provide a much-needed economic boost to these families.
Under the Mini Tractor Scheme, Scheduled Caste self-help groups and Neo-Buddhist groups in Maharashtra are set to benefit from a 90% subsidy on mini tractors and related equipment. The government will provide financial assistance of Rs 3.15 lakh, with self-help groups required to contribute only 10%, amounting to Rs 35,000. This inclusive approach aims to empower communities and enhance their economic conditions through agricultural development.
Apart from mini tractors, the Mini Tractor Scheme encompasses auxiliary equipment such as cultivators, rotavators, and trailers. This holistic approach ensures that farmers have access to a comprehensive set of tools necessary for efficient and modern farming practices.
To qualify for the scheme, 80% of the self-help group members must belong to the Scheduled Caste or Neo-Buddhist category, and the Chairman and Secretary should be from the Scheduled Caste. A subsidy of Rs 3.15 lakh will be granted for tractor purchases, and self-help groups exceeding the set target will be selected through a lottery system.
The application process involves filling out accurate information online, with valid applications being certified through the signatures of all members. In case of more applications than the set target, beneficiaries will be selected through a lottery. The subsequent steps include submitting bill receipts and vehicle licenses, ensuring transparency in the selection process.
Several documents are required for subsidy approval, including an Aadhar card, Voter ID, bank passbook photocopy, passport-sized photos, caste certificates, group member certificates, address proof, and mobile numbers. Additionally, the farmers must also submit their vehicle licenses online through the Regional Transport Office (RTO).
Farmers seeking subsidies on mini tractors can check the status of their applications on the official website [https://mini.mahasamajkalyan.in](https://mini.mahasamajkalyan.in). Detailed information about the scheme is also available at (https://sjsa.maharashtra.gov.in/mr).
