How to Sow These Improved Mustard Varieties

Before sowing mustard, it's important to prepare the field properly. Use a tractor, rotavator, or cultivator to soften the soil. One kilogram of seeds is sufficient for sowing per acre. Farmers can use either the sprinkling method or the row method, but the row method is preferred as it allows for easier weeding.

Steps for Row Sowing:

  • Keep a 30 cm gap between rows.
  • Maintain a 10-12 cm gap between plants.
  • Sow seeds at a depth of 2-3 cm for best germination.

For better results, apply organic fertilizers like cow dung along with chemical fertilizers based on soil tests. This preparation can lead to improved market prices for the mustard crop.

By choosing these top mustard varieties and following proper sowing techniques, farmers can expect higher yields and better profits this season.
