The Rajasthan government has announced a major relief package to support farmers and citizens affected by heavy rains, unseasonal downpours, and floods during this year’s monsoon. The disaster caused large-scale damage to crops, homes, livestock, and public infrastructure across the state. To address these losses, the government has released ₹2,600 crore in financial support and approved thousands of reconstruction works.

This year’s excessive rainfall and flooding resulted in widespread agricultural damage. According to state government data:
Crop losses of 33% or more were recorded in 30 districts
Losses below 33% occurred in 11 districts
14,687 villages across 24 districts were declared disaster-affected under SDRF rules
To support affected farmers, the government has approved ₹2,600 crore as input subsidy, benefiting 4.33 million (43.39 lakh) farmers.
Disaster Relief Minister Dr Kirodi Lal Meena said the primary goal is to ensure farmers receive assistance quickly so they can prepare for the next crop without financial burden.

The floods damaged roads, bridges, schools, medical facilities, and other public infrastructure. To restore essential services, the government has approved 50,308 repair and reconstruction works, costing ₹1,012.61 crore. Below is the department-wise breakup:
Public Works Department (PWD)
14,212 road repair works — ₹293.13 crore
1,161 culvert repairs — ₹7.20 crore
Water Resources Department
903 works — ₹18.67 crore
Medical & Health Department
700 works — ₹13.18 crore
Panchayati Raj Department
873 works — ₹19.39 crore
Public Health Engineering Department (PHED)
17 works — ₹22.69 lakh
Education Department
24,531 works — ₹486.94 crore
Women & Child Development Department
7,911 works — ₹173.03 crore
These projects will help restore damaged infrastructure in both rural and urban regions, speeding up the recovery process for affected communities.

The disaster claimed 112 lives across the state. The government has provided ₹4 lakh to each family, totalling ₹4.8 crore.
Additionally, ₹11.54 crore has been released to compensate for:
Loss of livestock
Damage to household items and clothing
Repairs for kutcha and pucca houses
District administrations have been directed to ensure the immediate distribution of relief funds to affected families.
Disaster Relief Minister Dr Kirodi Lal Meena emphasised that the government is committed to supporting every individual affected by the calamity. He stated that relief distribution will remain prompt, transparent, and effective, ensuring no one is left behind.
This extensive relief package is expected to help stabilize the lives of farmers, revive rural areas, and restore confidence in the state's agricultural economy.
