The Madhya Pradesh government has announced major relief for farmers affected by excessive rain, floods, and hailstorms. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has released Rs 20 crore 60 lakh through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for 17,500 farmers across 11 districts of the state.
According to the Revenue Commissioner’s data, Madhya Pradesh received an average of 1031.2 mm of rainfall this monsoon season, which is 25% higher than normal. Due to this, crops in several districts were badly damaged.
The highest rainfall was recorded in:
Guna – 1603 mm
Sheopur – 1418.6 mm
Mandla – 1417.4 mm
Raisen – 1403.2 mm
Shivpuri – 1354.1 mm
Farmers from these districts have received compensation for crop loss.
So far, the Madhya Pradesh government has distributed Rs 188.52 crore in different forms of relief during 2025-26 to cover natural disaster losses. Earlier in August, CM Dr. Yadav had provided over Rs 30 crore to 24,884 affected families in the state.
While releasing the compensation, CM Dr. Yadav interacted with farmers virtually. He assured them that no farmer will be left without help.
He said, “The prosperity of farmers is the strength of our government. We will continue to support them by giving proper compensation for crop loss so they can restart farming with confidence.”
The compensation has been transferred directly to farmers’ bank accounts through DBT. Farmers can check whether the amount has been received in the following ways:
Update your bank passbook to confirm the deposit.
Check the mobile banking app or SMS alerts.
Contact your District Agriculture Office or Patwari.
Log in to the MP Kisan Portal.
Steps to Check on the MP Kisan Portal
Open https://mpkisan.gov.in on your mobile or computer.
Click on “Applicant Status” or “Farmer Registration Status.”
Enter your Registration Number, Samagra ID, or Aadhaar Number.
Click on “Search” or “View Status.”
Your application and compensation status will appear on the screen.
If the compensation does not reflect in your account within 1–2 days, farmers can contact their village secretary, patwari, or the district agriculture officer for assistance.
Apart from compensation, the Madhya Pradesh government is also providing relief under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. Insurance companies provide payments based on crop loss surveys. In 2024-25, lakhs of farmers applied under this scheme. Last year, about 50 lakh farmers received Rs 8,000 crore as insurance claims.
As per the Revenue Department, a total of Rs 188.52 crore has been distributed to farmers in 2025-26 for natural disaster losses. The aim is to restore livelihoods and help farmers prepare for the next crop cycle.

The Madhya Pradesh government’s move to release Rs 20.60 crore for 17,500 farmers shows its commitment to supporting agriculture during tough times. With heavy rains and floods damaging crops, this financial relief ensures farmers can recover losses, restart farming activities, and maintain their livelihood. Alongside state aid, central crop insurance schemes are also helping secure farmers futures.
