The Rajasthan Government has launched a new scheme in the financial year 2026 to uplift BPL (Below Poverty Line) families in rural areas. The scheme, called Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Garibi Mukt Gaon Yojana, aims to eradicate poverty from 5,000 villages by providing financial aid, permanent housing, and access to 93 government schemes.

Under this scheme, BPL families in selected villages will receive ₹21,000 in financial aid from the government. Along with this, they can also get a loan without providing any guarantee. This move is expected to help poor families become self-reliant and financially stable.
If any BPL family does not have a pucca house, the government will provide one under this scheme. Additionally, the benefits from earlier schemes will continue, so families will not lose any support they were already receiving.

The state government has planned to spend ₹1 lakh on each BPL family under this scheme. Women from these families who are part of self-help groups will get ₹15,000 as working capital to start self-employment or small businesses.
The scheme will also connect families with several other schemes, such as:
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for concrete houses
Ujjwala Yojana for gas cylinders
Toilet construction support
Scholarships for children’s education
Ration and food grains under food security
Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya for school dropouts
Skill development training for youth
These families will be given all the benefits without removing any earlier support.
To help BPL families come out of poverty, the government will issue an Aatmanirbhar (Self-Reliant) Card. With this, families will be linked to 93 government schemes in total, which include:
14 schemes for employment and livelihood
16 schemes for women's empowerment
13 schemes for financial inclusion
49 schemes for social security
15 parameters have been set to check whether a family has become self-reliant or not. Once eligible, they will be officially marked out of the BPL category.
In the first phase, villages where the number of BPL families is less will be selected. So, if your village has fewer poor families, it has a better chance of being selected early.
The scheme is being carried out at the Panchayat level and has been active in Rajasthan since April 1, 2025. Here's how you can apply:
Visit your Gram Panchayat office and check if your village is included.
Ensure your name is in the BPL list.
Keep documents ready like BPL card, Aadhar card, ration card, bank details, etc.
Contact Gram Sevak or Patwari for help and guidance regarding the application process.
For complete and official information about the scheme, visit the Rajasthan Government’s Rural Development Department website: https://rdpr.rajasthan.gov.in/order/detail/961/0/202502
This scheme is a golden opportunity for poor and BPL families living in rural areas to improve their living standards and become self-reliant. If you or someone you know qualifies, don’t miss out on applying!
