Paddy farmers to receive direct relief.
Wheat to be purchased at ₹2,600/quintal.
Soybean model rate increased under Bhavantar.
Govt to pay 90% electricity bill on pump sets.
Relief distribution event on Nov 27 in Sheopur.
The Madhya Pradesh government has taken several farmer-friendly decisions to provide financial support after heavy crop damage in the Kharif season. Continuous rains and floods caused huge losses to paddy crops across many districts, prompting the government to order a statewide crop survey. Based on the survey report, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has now approved direct relief for paddy farmers and also cleared confusion about wheat procurement rates for the upcoming Rabi season.

A major relief distribution event has been scheduled in Sheopur district on November 27, where Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will release compensation funds to farmers whose paddy crops were destroyed due to floods and heavy rains.
The relief will be directly transferred to farmers’ bank accounts after verifying losses through government surveys.
Minister-in-Charge Rakesh Shukla and former minister Ramniwas Rawat will be present during the distribution.
The Chief Minister also appreciated Sheopur’s farmers for their strong contribution to agriculture and milk production. He highlighted that cow rearing has been part of the district’s culture for centuries. He further stated that leopard relocation to the Kuno region has increased tourism and strengthened the local economy.
A farmers delegation led by Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar recently met CM Yadav at his residence. During the meeting, the Chief Minister assured that the state government is committed to protecting farmers’ interests.
He said Madhya Pradesh is among the leading states working for farmer welfare and continues to give financial support under the Bhavantar Yojana, especially to soybean cultivators.
He also stressed that no farmer will be left alone, and the government will take all necessary steps to compensate their losses.
To reduce farmers’ burden, the state government announced two major decisions:
1. Relief to Paddy Farmers: Farmers whose paddy crops were damaged during the Kharif season will receive a relief amount based on the official crop-loss survey.
2. Wheat Purchase at MSP of ₹2,600/Quintal: Clearing recent confusion, the government confirmed that the state will purchase wheat at ₹2,600 per quintal this Rabi season.
The Central Government MSP is ₹2,585
Farmers will receive an additional ₹15 bonus
Final price: ₹2,600 per quintal
This ensures farmers get a fair price without any uncertainty.

To ease irrigation expenses, the government has decided to bear 90% of the electricity bill for farmers using 3 HP and 5 HP pump sets.
This step aims to reduce input costs and encourage continuous agricultural activity despite recent losses.
The state government is actively purchasing soybeans under the Bhavantar Yojana. The model rate has recently increased to ₹4,285 per quintal, applicable to farmers selling produce inside market yards.
Between November 10 and 20, the model rate kept rising—from ₹4,036 to ₹4,267 per quintal by November 20.
Under the scheme:
The government guarantees a minimum support price (MSP) of ₹5,328 per quintal for soybean.
If the model rate is lower than MSP, the government pays the difference directly to farmers as “Bhavantar.”
This ensures farmers receive full price protection even when market rates fall.
The Madhya Pradesh government is continuously announcing decisions that strengthen rural livelihoods. Measures such as:
Relief to paddy-producing farmers
Wheat procurement at ₹2,600/quintal
Increased soybean model rates
Major subsidy on electricity bills
…all show a strong commitment to supporting farmers during difficult times.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav again emphasized that the government stands firmly with farmers and will take every possible step to compensate losses and boost agricultural production across the state.

The Madhya Pradesh government has taken strong steps to support farmers affected by heavy rains and floods. With paddy relief, wheat procurement at ₹2,600 per quintal, higher soybean model rates, and major electricity bill subsidies, the state aims to reduce financial pressure on farmers. CM Mohan Yadav has assured that no farmer will be left unsupported, and all necessary measures will be taken to ensure stability and growth in the agriculture sector.
