LTIMindtree, a global leader in technology consulting and digital solutions, and Farmers Edge, a pioneer in digital agriculture, have teamed up to create a new “innovation lab” for farming. The lab called the Farmers Edge Innovation Lab (FEIL), aims to help Indian farmers increase their crop production and save money. The joint initiative also aims to enhance the digital agriculture services that will benefit Indian farmers.
Farmers Edge is known for its expertise in digital agriculture. It uses a combination of connected field sensors, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and agronomy to help farmers optimize their crop yields through smart farming practices that reduce resource use.
LTIMindtree is committed to creating an environment where ideas can thrive. The launch of FEIL is expected to have a transformative impact on sustainable farming in India, using the company’s top talent and cutting-edge technology.
The main goal of FEIL is to educate and empower Indian farmers by offering customized solutions that are designed to improve crop production, lower costs, and contribute to a prosperous and sustainable future for agriculture in the country.
Nachiket Deshpande, Whole-Time Director and COO of LTIMindtree highlighted the company’s dedication to innovating sustainable farming practices through this lab.
FEIL-Mumbai, as part of its tailored approach, will focus on the specific aspects of India’s agricultural landscape, taking into account factors such as weather patterns, soil conditions, and crop cycles. This tailored setup aims to address the unique challenges faced by Indian farmers and provide targeted solutions for their diverse needs.
Vibhore Arora, CEO of Farmers Edge, stressed that FEIL is not just an innovation hub but a vital support system for the agricultural transformation in India. Through the delivery of sustainable and effective data-driven solutions, FEIL-Mumbai hopes to play a key role in advancing the agriculture sector and meeting the unique needs of farmers in India.
