Farmers get 60% subsidy on solar pumps
Extra Rs 45,000 subsidy for SC/ST farmers
Pay as low as 10%
Applications close February 2025
Apply via Raj Kisan Sathi Portal
Farmers in Rajasthan can now enjoy big subsidies on solar pumps under the PM Kusum Yojana (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthan Maha Abhiyan). This scheme helps farmers set up solar pumps to provide 24-hour irrigation and reduce electricity costs. The state’s Horticulture Department is accepting applications for solar pumps of 3 HP, 5 HP, and 7.5 HP. Here's how farmers can benefit and apply for it.
Under PM Kusum Component B, farmers can get a subsidy of 60% (30% from the Central Government and 30% from the State Government).
Farmers need to pay only 40% of the pump cost, and they can take a bank loan of up to 30%. This means farmers may only need to invest 10% from their pocket.
SC/ST farmers are eligible for an extra Rs 45,000 subsidy for solar pumps up to 7.5 HP.
If farmers choose to install a 10 HP pump, they must pay the difference amount.
Farmers need at least 0.4 hectares of land to apply for the subsidy.
Tribal farmers in notified scheduled tribe areas need a minimum of 0.2 hectares for 3 and 5 HP pumps.
The pump capacity will be decided after a technical survey by the implementing firm.
To apply for the subsidy, farmers will need the following:
Jan Aadhaar Card
Land Jamabandi (not older than six years)
Copy of bank passbook
Irrigation Water Source Self-Declaration Form
Self-declaration form for no electricity connection
Farmers in Rajasthan can apply online through the Raj Kisan Sathi Portal or E-Mitra Center. Applications are open until the end of February 2025. For more details, farmers can contact the nearest Agricultureor Horticulture Department.
This is a great opportunity for farmers to reduce costs and get reliable irrigation using solar energy. Apply soon to take full advantage of the subsidy!
