UP CM urges farmers to sow early for a higher yield.
2170 teams to visit villages and share farming tips.
To strengthen the agriculture sector and improve the income of farmers, the Central Government has launched a new nationwide campaign called Developed Agriculture Resolution Campaign 2025 (Vikasit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan 2025). It was officially launched on 29 May 2025 by Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan from Puri, Odisha.
This campaign will run for 15 days, till June 12, and will involve 1.5 crore farmers from 700 districts across the country.
As part of the campaign, 2,170 teams, including 16,000 agricultural scientists, will go directly to villages. These scientists will guide farmers on:
Weather-based crop planning
Soil health and suitable seeds
Proper use of fertilizers
Natural and organic farming techniques
Pulses and oilseeds production
Food security and climate-smart farming
The Agriculture Minister urged farmers to meet scientists, discuss their farming challenges, and adopt modern farming methods. He said, “Scientists must now leave their labs and go directly to farmers fields.”
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanathgave important advice for Kharif crop farmers under this campaign. He highlighted that:
Monsoon may arrive 20 days early this year due to climate change.
However, drought-like conditions may occur, so timely planning is necessary.
Use good-quality seeds for better production.
Sow crops on time to get maximum yield.
Late sowing (by a month) can reduce yield by up to 30%.
If sowing is delayed, use the best seed variety available to minimize losses.
During the campaign, several key steps will be taken to educate and support farmers:
ICAR, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, Agricultural Universities, and the Department of Agriculture teams will train farmers.
Every team will visit two villages daily and provide guidance based on local conditions.
Information will be shared on what crops to grow, which seeds to use, when to sow, and how to fertilize properly.
Focus will also be on organic farming, climate-resilient agriculture, and water-saving techniques.
The Chief Minister stressed that strategic farming is the need of the hour. He advised farmers to plan:
What to do in case of drought or excess rainfall
Which crops are climate-resistant
How to make use of available natural resources smartly
On this occasion, CM Yogi Adityanathalso distributed certificates to farmers under the PM-Kusum Yojana, which provides solar pumps and energy-saving equipment.
In Uttar Pradesh, the campaign is being run with the support of:
89 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs)
826 Block Headquarters
8,137 Kisan Kalyan Kendras
Through this campaign, farmers will receive proper training, learn new farming strategies, and explore new technologies to improve crop production.
