Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana: ₹380 Crore Released for Millet Farmers in Haryana

The Haryana government has announced a major relief for millet-producing farmers. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has approved the release of ₹380 crore under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana, which will soon be transferred directly to farmers’ bank accounts. He said that the state’s progress is not possible without farmer prosperity, and farmer welfare remains the top priority of the government.

Government Support from Sowing to Sale

While addressing Kisan Morcha officials at his official residence, Sant Kabir Kutir, the Chief Minister said the government supports farmers at every stage—from sowing to harvesting and selling crops. Farmers are getting benefits like subsidies on farm equipment, crop loss compensation, crop insurance, and assured procurement. Payments for crops are being made directly into bank accounts without delay.

Procurement of 24 Crops at MSP

Haryana is among the few states in India where 24 crops are procured at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). So far, around ₹1.64 lakh crore has been deposited into the bank accounts of nearly 1.2 million farmers for crop purchases.

Over the last 11 years, the government has also provided ₹15,728 crore as compensation for crop damage caused by natural disasters, offering strong financial support during difficult times.

“Meri Fasal Mera Byora” Portal Simplifies Services

To make procurement and government services easier, the state has launched the “Meri Fasal Mera Byora” portal. Through this platform, farmers can register their crops from home and access procurement benefits. Services related to seeds, fertilizers, loans, and farm equipment are also available.

For the Kharif 2025 season, compensation of more than ₹116.51 crore has been released to 53,821 farmers affected by natural calamities.

Abolition of Abiana Brings Major Relief

The Chief Minister announced the complete abolition of the Abiana system, a British-era water tax. Along with this, pending Abiana dues of ₹133.55 crore have been waived.

He also said that the sugarcane price in Haryana has been fixed at ₹415 per quintal, which is the highest in the country.

Mandis, e-NAM and Modern Infrastructure

To ensure better prices for farmers, 108 mandis in Haryana have been linked to the e-NAM portal, enabling online sale of crops.

Asia’s largest modern apple, fruit, and vegetable market has been set up in Pinjore. Additionally, under the Haryana Operational Pilot Project, land reclamation work has been completed on 1.54 lakh acres.

Push for Natural Farming and Subsidies

Under the state’s natural farming promotion scheme, verification of 19,723 farmers has been completed, covering 31,873 acres. Financial assistance is being provided, and subsidies for purchasing indigenous cows are being directly credited to farmers’ bank accounts.

Benefits from Central Government Schemes

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, a total of ₹7,233 crore has been transferred to 20.18 lakh farmers in Haryana.

Similarly, under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, insurance claims worth ₹9,127 crore have been paid to more than 33.51 lakh farmers.

Focus on Irrigation and Water Conservation

To improve irrigation and save water, the Haryana government is offering up to 85% subsidy on micro-irrigation systems. Support is also provided for underground pipelines and sprinkler irrigation.

Under the Revised Waterways Policy 2021, old waterways are being restored rapidly to ensure water reaches every farm.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said the government is fully committed to making farmers economically strong, as they are the backbone of Haryana’s growth. The ₹380 crore released under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana is a major step towards increasing farmers’ income and ensuring the long-term prosperity of agriculture in the state.
