Severe heat continues to grip many parts of India. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast showing a further rise in temperatures in the plains and chances of rainfall in hilly and eastern regions. Here is the complete weather update for the next five days, with yesterday's weather update for places accordingly.

A new Western Disturbance will impact the Western Himalayan Region from April 24 to 26, causing rain, thunder, and lightning in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir.
Heavy rainfall is expected in Meghalaya until April 27.
Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura may receive heavy rain from April 23 to 25.
Lightning activity is expected in Eastern India between April 26 and 28.
The Southern states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Mahe, Yanam, and Rayalaseema will receive light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and strong winds for the next 7 days.
IMD has issued heatwave warnings across several plains in Northwest and Central India:
East Madhya Pradesh: Heatwave likely to continue till April 28.
West Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Odisha: Heatwave expected till April 27.
Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and West Madhya Pradesh: Heatwave expected from April 24 to 28.
Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema: Hot and humid conditions from April 23 to 26.
Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Goa, Konkan, and Jharkhand: Hot and humid weather till April 25.
Northwest India: Max temperature may rise by 2–3°C.
Central India: May see a 2°C rise over the next 2 days.
Gujarat: Temperature expected to rise by 2–3°C in 3 days.
Eastern India: Temperature may rise by 3–5°C, but may drop afterwards.
The weather is expected to remain mostly dry for the next 5 days.
Max temperatures may rise by 2–5°C.
No major warnings, but thunderstorms, lightning, and winds (30-40 KMPH) may occur in Alwar, Bharatpur, Bundi, Dausa, Dholpur, Jaipur, Sikar, and Tonk.
Heatwave likely in Alwar, Jhunjhunu, Barmer, Bikaner, Hanumangarh, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Sriganganagar on April 25 and 27.
Temperatures are expected to remain around 42°C from Thursday to Saturday.
On Sunday and Monday, temperatures may drop slightly to 41°C.
Slight humidity and low wind speed expected.
Western & Eastern UP to remain mostly dry from April 24 to 26.
Rain/thundershowers possible in Eastern UP from April 27 to 29.
Heatwave may persist from April 24 to 26.
Max temperature may rise by 2°C in the next 3 days, then fall by 2–4°C.
Min temperature to remain steady for 48 hours, may increase by 2–3°C afterwards.
Currently affected by Western Disturbance and the trough line from Rajasthan to Bangladesh.
Hot winds from the northwest are causing a sharp rise in temperatures.
Second Western Disturbance to hit by April 24, increasing heat.
Max temperatures may hit 43°C in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, and 45°C or more in Khajuraho, Naugaon, Panna,and Sidhi.
Heatwave may continue for 15–20 days into May.
